  1. It's been just over two weeks since I picked my 997 S cabriolet, and I can't say enough about it. I previously owned a '99 996 cab and an '02 996 cab and this car far and away a better automobile on all counts. I'd highly recommend getting the Sport Chrono package; it's like having two cars at the push of a button
  2. I think the 997 you drove may have been faulty <_< or UK spec is different, as the brochure says:"Electricaly powered, the hood is easy to open using a button on the centre console or the key remote. As the side windows descend, the hood box opens to recieve the folding hood". this is from a UK brochure. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The key is it's from the UK brochure. The US 996 cabs did not have the key remote for the top and neither do the 997's.
  3. The dealer may not want to take the risk of being stuck with a much less salable car if you delete the sunroof and then cancel. I know that some people who ordered 996's with the sunroof deleted were required to make $5,000 deposits.
  4. I apologize for my ignorance, but what does "TUV" stand for?
  5. I've got a 997S cab on order (April build) and while I'm waiting I downloaded the manual and noted that there was no reference to being able to open the top with the door key as in the 996. Maybe it's been eliminated because now the rear windows also get raised when the top is lowered and Porsche is concerned about people getting their fingers mashed. Would be interesting to know if the ROW cars are the same. On the 996, the European cabs had a button on the key fob to allow remote opening of the top but the US cars did not, again because of liability concerns.
