  1. I am trying to convert my 986S (MY2000, manual) to European (metric, Celsius) gauge faces. At Porsche you can only order the whole cluster for $1000+... Got this email from MEISTER gauge faces, anyone have a scan of their faces ? Thanks. I am sorry, We do not have those gauge face templates yet. However we do offer a deal where if you make digital scans of your gauge faces for us, we will provide you with a free set. Let me know if you are interested, ---------------------------------------------------- Dave Meister Owner Meister Gauge Faces http://h2ovw.com
  2. So would you recommend to just let the dealer get the parts because I cannot save much by buying directly from Sachs ? If the flywheel is really so expensive I have to think about it again.. as there is no way to know whether it is really the cause of the vibration and the vibration contributing to the leakage of the seals. Great forum here ! I am writing down all these pieces of information !
  3. Thanks - so a lighter flywheel makes it more twitchy/harder to shift with the right rpm ? I do not use the car on the track. Does it make sense to look for the parts somewhere online to obtain them cheaper than the dealer can ?
  4. To me too please, I am very highly interested - planning to import my US Boxster to Europe !
  5. Any idea where to obtain such a flywheel ? Why did Porsche not make it lighter in the first place ? Costs ? Thanks
  6. Hello everybody ! This is my first post here, I have been told it is a good place for technical advice. My car is a 2000 986S manual, with 66k miles. Had a RMS replaced once. Now seems to be wet of oil again. No puddle on the floor and under a quart oil usage in 5-6000 miles. IF I decide to do the RMS (got extended warranty with warrantec): What are all the parts I should replace to make sure I did all to prevent it from recurring? What other parts to replace ? Clutch is original and works fine considering miles but probably I would replace it. I experience a vibration when letting the engine slow down the car as it passes 3000rpm. I have been told to exchange flywheel, clean throttle body, fix engine mounts... The Porsche tech drove it and said it is normal engine vibration but it seems a bit too strong to be normal to me ! Possible (performace?) upgrades I can think of is so far only a lighter flywheel. Any drawbacks with that ? If Porsche did not make it lighter then maybe for a reason... Thanks for any help - this could save me alot of $$$ if I plan well before letting them rip my dear Boxster apart...
