brake light problem

So I got the problem fixed at the shop. The problem was the wiring loom was crossed and the wrong white plastic receptacle (there are two) was going to the brake light bulb. The previous owner was in an accident that affected that area and the repair shop that fixed it had it backwards. Thanks everyone for you input! Jesse -

OK, thanks RFM. I guess I will take it to the shop. The weird thing is that before ordering the wiring loom replacement for the right tail lights I unplugged the left tail light assembly and plugged it into the right and the brake light lit up. But the problem may be that not enough power is getting to power both the left and right lights at the same time. Anyway, guess that's where you need skills beyond what I can do. Will post what the shop diagnoses... -
Car warning message says "Replace Right Brake Light" which I've done but it has not solved the problem. I also tried replacing the wiring loom going to the right tails lights and still the problem persists. The bulb lights up when the lights are turned on but does not get brighter when the brakes are depressed. When lights are off the left and center lights illuminate when the brake pedal is depressed. I don't believe it's the brake light switch because only one light is not working. I even removed the brake light switch, but still get the same error message. Does anyone have any idea where the fault could be. Thanks very much! Jesse p.s. the car is a 2005 997 Carrera.
