  1. Can anyone help or offer a fix My battery died and was replaced today (996 C2 2003). The PCM2 Nav and Radio continue to work but I am getting a system error message "No CD Changer Detected" Is there something that I can do to fix this? Many thanks in advance
  2. I hope that someone can help me My 996 C2 Tip (2003) will not start. I last drove it yesterday and took it for quite a long run. Everything seemed normal. Today the car won't start. The symptoms are: When starting relays can be heard but starter motor will not turn Internal electrics seem OK (but had problems with windows, sun roof and rear wing opening and not shutting, also had air bag warning but all now cleared?) Battery volt meter is reading flat I have tried jump starting (battery reading in excess of 12v when connected) and starter tries to turn but no use I guess it could either be a battery or a starter motor problem? I could try removing the battery and charging to eliminate this as a cause but I understand that I may have issues with PCM codes if I do this?? Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
  3. I have found an oil leak under my 2003 996 C2 Tip and a yellow sludge within the oil filler spout. I have read some threads that suggest that sludge may be normal and as a result of condensation issues due to short trips / lack of use during the winter months and that the car should be taken for a long drive. I have read other threads that suggest checking for water on the oil dip stick and for oil in the water / coolant reservoir. My dip stick seems clear of water but the water reservoir is low (below min) and is a rusty / tea colour. Does this point to a gasket, cracked block / head problem. I would be grateful for any advice that anyone can give. Thanks
  4. Can anyone help? I have just had my front tyres replaced (996 C2) and have found that the insie shoulder of both L and R tyres are heavily worn in comparison to the oustide edges. Is this normal or is there somethin that I need to do? Many thanks in advance for any advice
  5. i have noticed that the coolant level in the reservoir is below the min line but there is no warning light on the dash is this a problem? i noticed while checking what sounds like a fan belt squeal on my 2003 996 that i bought 1 week ago i assume that i just need to top up and monitor the level (i have seen some other postings that could suggest bigger problems so I hope that this will solve the problem) can someone please recommend a compatible coolant for a 996
  6. I hope that someone can help! I have recently bought a 2003 C2 and the PCM2 works perfectly (radio + CD changer) but the sat nav does not work at all. The sat nav screen reads "starting sat nav" but just hangs There is also a "not reading CD" type message I have tried an audio CD in the single CD slot and it appears to try to play it. I can toggle through tracks and the track time moves as if playing but no sound is heard. I would be grateful for any ideas that anyone has
