  1. Sorry, Allen I just loged back in from many months ago. I'm sure by know you have fixed your problem but in case you haven't here it goes, in my case it was that the car was not building enough fuel preassure and I had to replace the fuel damper and compressor.
  2. Sorry, I was refering to the key in the ignition. I was told that it was not building pressure and that if you turn the key 3/4 way several times rapidly, and then all the way it would start
  3. Hi, I just purchased a 1984 944, that I would like to bring back to life. One of the major problems I am having is turning it on. If you try to start it the engine turns but does not ignite. I was told that it was not building pressure and that if you turn the key 3/4 way several times rapidley, and then all the way it would start. Well it works if you do that. She will start that way and stay on, so is it true could this be my pressure regulator? Do I also need to replace the diaphram damper as well? Please help, what could this be? Fuel Filter?
  4. Yes the engine cranks, but it does not stay on. You have to quickly turn the key 3/4 way and then it will turn on. If you just insert the key and turn all the way it tries to start but does not engage.
  5. Hi Renntech friends, I just purchased a 1984, 944 that I want to bring back to life. The car looks great, but I have a problem starting it. I need to turn the key very rapidly in the ignition switch in order for the car to start. A few quick turns and the car does start and stays on. but it is a pain, what parts do you think I need to replace?
  6. Great to hear, I was afraid it was a problem with the TIP. I feel a lot better now. Well that is why I was worried I just purchased the car a month ago. Since I purchased the 98 I have pampered it (driving miss daisy style), so I guess it makes a lot of sense. Actually it makes more sense due to the fact that even though it is a 98, it looks like new, very well kept, and maintained. :renntech:
  7. Well the left was working, but now neither one works. So could this be trapped air?
  8. Hi, I am having a problem with my TIP on auto. When I first start the car and put it in drive it is in 1st, but as soon as I move it, it goes to 2nd gear and when I come to a stop it does not go back to 1st. I have found myself in 5th gear and only doing 40m.p.h. When I shift to manual mode I go trough all the gears without a problem. Is this something serious or a simple fix. I do not know if it is true but I was told that the car has 2 modes, economic and sports, and that based on how you drive it you could put it in econo mode. Is this true, How can I fix it?
  9. Hi, I want to replace the equalizing tank on my 98 Boxster. Any tips before I venture into this journey, can I do it all from the rear trunk? I notices the tank has only 3 screws that hold it in place, and it seams that they are all accessible from the trunk. I also noticed that I have to remove the 3 rubber hose, and oil dipstick. Any tips from the pros?
  10. Hi, I just replaced the right front washer spray for the front light on my 98 Boxster. Now it is not working, is this because I have air trapped in the hose. What should I do?
  11. Hi, I have a question in reference to the feature that steps the window down when you open the door. Is this the window regulator? My motor works perfect and when the window is lowered half way the glass will step up and down when the door is opened or closed, but fully closed it gets jammed. Can some one help? Thanks :renntech:
  12. Can Someone help me with a key not working manually or electronically. I would greatly appreciate any assistance or suggestions. The key once inserted in the door will not lock or unlock the car, but will start it. I figure I have to probably take the door apart, but what should I look for. Thanks
  13. Hi Maurice, Thanks for the help I did get the car to open. I was hoping you could help me with another problem, I got the car to start and everthing works exsept the key. When I isert the key in the door it does not work, nor does the keyless entry. What can I do to fix it? Thanks, Erick from Miami
  14. Thanks for the help, I have not been able to clear out the garage, so yes the car was outside and it did get some rain. I will try the wire hanger suggestion although it seems like it will take a lot of patience and a great amount of luck. Thanks again for the help.
