  1. Hi folks, My 996T is a 2001 model with a PCM1 navigation unit (identified by tape slot and large SIM slot - right?) Porsche SA are telling me that navigation did not work in SA prior to 2004 (which I'm guessing is PCM2), despite my unit having full GPS capabilities. Now that just doesn't make sense; surely maps are available? Even if somewhat outdated? Does anyone know anything about getting a PCM1 up and running in SA? For obvious reasons I'm loath to replace the PCM1 with an aftermarket, yet using a portable TomTom is so daft - in a Porsche!
