  1. You will pay GST private sale or not. You I had to pay the GST even though it was a private sale.
  2. Thanks Loren......thats what I was afraid of. I saw some posts while searching about the climate control 'bleeding' fix. Would this be the same process just more complicated?
  3. Here are some cell phone pics of the problem. And a few of the car just because ;)
  4. Hey Guys So today has been a bad day so far. I had my 911 in storage for winter. Haven't started it in about 5 or 6 weeks as it's been pretty cold up here. Today it's nice and went to start it and noticed the display where the kms/hr are is broken I guess. Still shows the kms/hr. Looks like someone hit it but noone actually did. Spiderwebbing I guess would be best way to describe it. Does anyone know if/how this can be repaired?? I'm ready for bad news.... <_<
  5. It sounds like it is only for porsches under warranty. Fair enough. However when I brought that upto my local dealer today he said that he has NOT been instructed to only apply newer cars to the inspection. However when I asked if he had been instructed to NOT issue recall letters he said no. So I don't see why he couldn't print it for me. So they are applying it to all cars; warranty or not If anyone can pm me the dealer they have used in US or Canada that would be greatly appreciated. I have pmed some people but they don't want to 'tarnish their reputation with their dealer'. I won't mention any names, just ask if they can provide a letter for me. If they have done it recently they may be able/willing again. Thanks!
  6. I just imported my 996 and got the same response from both dealers in Alberta. They want me to do another inspection even if I had the out of Province inspection (Alberta requirement) and pay for anything they find wrong (and the service manager laughingly added "I always find something wrong!") and they will hold the car hostage. Unbelievable. I argued on the phone with both dealers and Porsche Canada but they see nothing wrong with it.
  7. The best place I have been able to find (anywhere) is usually my own garage! A filter and oil change is very easy and there are a bunch of well documented DIY's on this site and elsewhere on the net. JP Thanks for the help guys! I've been doing my own oil changes for years. Unfortunately I'm not home and don't have a garage and access to tools. I hate paying for something so easy but I want to treat the car right! Also, if anyone has recomendations on good places for aftermarket parts in the OC area. I wouldn't mind looking at what there is available down here. We have a hard time getting stuff up in Canada. Max
  8. Hi Guys!! I just bought an 00 Carerra. I'm looking for a good place for an oil change in the OC/Tustin area. The problem is I leave for home (Canada) on Sat and would like to get an oil change and a car bra done before I go as the trek will be almost 2000miles. Any suggestions? Thanks! Max
