  1. Yeah! I've been tossing around the idea of waiting for a used one so I can buy it and mod it to death!! As for the alignment, I'm going to look for an indy shop that has the PST2. Because the C4S needs all for wheels aligned it's about $500-$600 to get it aligned at the dealer... that's crazy. Rob
  2. I've had zero technical issues with my Porsches, (knocks on wood)... :P I'm going to hold onto the 2004 for the long haul, so my guess is that I'll be posted here more as the car gets older... I'm seriously considering leasing a Cayman S, I'm going to look at the car next week... looks like a car that would be fun to toss around the track. Rob - so what was the issue? taking my car in for tires at a local place this weekend, may get an alignment as well... There is a setting that has to be changed via a Porsche configuration tool. I think it was related to the offset from steering column sensor. :cursing:
  3. Yes. There seems to be some debate on what Porsche recommends and what may be best practice.
  4. Yup, I get that. So the question would be, should you let the car come to idle (700rpm or so) before driving it?
  5. Basalt Black is a great color! But you really shouldn't throw McDonald's wrappers out the window of the car. B)
  6. I'm trying to gain an understanding of why the car is engineered to idle higher when it's cold. First I always warm the car until the the car comes to idle - about 700RPM, which takes about 2 or 3 min. tops. Then I keep the RPM's under 4K until the car comes up to temp, about 180 degrees. You can actually feel the tranny warm up and shifting is much easier. After that I consider the car ready to go. When I first start the car, and my 2001 C4 was the same, the engine runs a little rough, but as soon as it comes to idle it purrs, why would I just start the car and drive? :help: Much appreciated! Rob

  8. You can also check the brake fluid level and the battery condition - both have been know to cause this. If not one of those, you will need to find a shop or dealer that has a PST2 or PIWIS tester to read the codes. The code(s) should point to the problem. Thanks Loren. I am bringing the car into the Porsche dealership on Monday... I'll post back.
  9. Greetings folks, I just picked up my car from a local alignment shop and tech notified me that the PSM and ABS warning lights came on when he test drove the car. He doesn't have the equipment to diagnose the problem and asked me to have Porsche take a look at it. Does anyone know how an alignment could cause this issues? I'll bring the car into Manhattan Motor Cars on Monday, but I'd like to have some clue. Thank you, Robert
