  1. Can you also please send me the procedure? I am going to change out my water pump when I install aluminum coolant pipes.
  2. I had the the same problem when I added the Homelink components. The Red #3 wire was not hot. My Cayenne did not have the park assist option so I used the hot Brown #6 wire from the unused Park Assist connector.
  3. Is the Burmah diff fluid the only practical choice or does anyone know if other gear lube will work well? Such as Mobil 75-140 synthetic gear lube. When I drained the Burmah fluid it smelled rotten and was very thin, almost like the viscosity of water.
  4. My '04 Cayenne HID drivers side high beam seems to get stuck on even when I switch to low beam. I will switch back and forth between High and Low beam several times and it will finally go to low beam on left hand. The right hand beam always switch high/low fine. Do I need to replace the bulbs?
  5. My '04 cardan shaft just failed at 62K miles (Pic shows failure) . I removed the front end of the shaft from the transfer case however the rear part of the shaft seems to be locked into the rear diff shaft and won't move. I removed six 12mm triple square bolts but the shaft just will not pull out. <_< Please help! I've used a hammer, pry bar and come along all at the same time and it still wont break free. UPDATE: It finally broke free when I used a bearing puller from Harbor Freight and long 10mm bolts. The rebuilt unit from Coloradodriveshaft.com is much more robust when compared side by side to the VW/Porsche shaft mid bearing. Shaft cost $450, bearing puller $30.
  6. '02 M3 or Cayenne '04 Turbo or 06' S? I have an '02 3-series and think it is the greatest car ever built with no problems at 90K and also have an '04 Cayenne S that has had every common problem that is reported on this site. I would go with a '06 Cayenne S that will have fewer problems and make sure it has the adjustable air suspension with ride height control if concerned about snow and it will still be capable of maintaining a smooth ride for the ladies. Cayennes without suspension management (PASM) will ride firm. I love my Cayenne and like wrenching on it but the E46 M3 is the better vehicle. Since you're in college you need to know that any Porsche is better than any BMW when picking up the opposite sex.
  7. What are the correct fluids for the Transmission, Transfer Box and Rear Final Drive? I am wanting to do all three myself and would appreciate any tips or your experience with this. --I found the TSBs for Approved Oils 3702 and 3965
  8. I've seen used remotes and new blanks for sale. Is it possible to DIY reprogram a remote? If so, can someone share the process? Thanks
