  1. I've had 7 nails in 2 summers... And I've had BMW patch them every time (since my Porsche dealer wont), no high speed blowouts yet... I doubt I or anyone else could push the car hard enough on public roads to cause the patch to fail.

The only time I didn't repair was when the puncture was near the sidewall... That was the last one and it cost me 2 305/30/19s.!. Now I have an extra with 40% wear.

  2. I stored my C2S last year, and my M3 for the 3 previous years.

All you need to do is buy a battery maintainer to keep charge and the battery from freezing, over-inflate the tires to about 50-55psi (no flat spots in the spring), and cover with a breathable car cover.

I also have the yearly service done before storing, fill the gas tank to the top and add stabilizer.

A few people have mentioned not to leave the car on jacks for the exact reason Deanski mentioned, parts of the suspension would be exposed that usually aren't.

Everything worked perfectly when I took her out after a 4 month hibernation, started without hesitation.

  3. I store my C2S from December until March or April. My dealer gave me the Porsche battery maintainer as a gift when they delivered my car. Just plugs into any 12v outlet, the cord is thin enough to go straight out under the door with the door closed and locked.

Works perfectly, she started right away without hesitation after months.

They all work pretty much the same, I had a BMW version when I had an M3... The only concern I would have is whether or not the cheaper versions would maintain a consistent charge and what kind of shut off they're equipped with. You really wouldn't want to damage your battery.

  4. Yes, it cuts off at lower speeds with anything more that minor acceleration. I was told it was all normal operations... But since I didn't pay a couple thousand dollars to not hear my exhaust, I disconnected the shut-off.

Now it's on all the time. Unless I'm pushing it, it's not too loud for the neighborhood and my dealer doesn't have any issues with what I've done.
