  1. yeah, read a little bit more about it and the RUF rear RTurbo spoiler are speedsensed and the upper wing will rais automatic upon a certain speed. but the TT rear spoiler from MASHAW, the upper wing is manual set to either being In our Raised! My question is still, will it be suffienced enough if the upper wing is down during 285km? cheers, Tony
  2. WOW, great article! And this seems to be a known issue for sometimes now, and it seems to be on all Porsche models! Have anyone have this experience? So this means, you could buy a pair Litronics of eBay and they could actually be a pair of headlight from your friend, this is sad! cheers, Tony
  3. hey guys, anyone experienced with TT rear spoiler from MASHAW but on a Cabrio? and a more complete pics of the 996 with this rear spoiler would be greatful! what I know ist that, this TT rear wing can either be down or up, not like the factory speedsensing. then the question, what about the downforce with such a spoiler with the uper wing down compare to the standard spoiler, is it enough downforce for stability over 200km? cheers, Tony
  4. hey Martin, that's your car! (still) hope you didn't mind that I post the great pics on this forum? ps. and I got already a proposal from Mr. Striening from speedART, and I need to find me a pair of tail-pipes from 4S to calculate the complete price! cheers, Tony
  5. hi Carl, here are some info: The 40th Anniversary 911's 3.6-liter flat-six engine produces 345 horsepower (DIN), 25 horsepower more than the base model 911. As a result, the model is one second faster than the regular 911 from 0 to 120 mph (200 km/h) with a time of 16.5 seconds. The car's top track speed, 180 mph (290 km/h), makes it the second fastest non-turbocharged model in the current 911 line. Aggressive sport suspension settings help to enhance the 40th Anniversary 911's handling. Combined with the standard electronic Porsche Stability Management (PSM) system, an additional mechanical rear-axle differential lock provides even better traction and optimum acceleration potential. The 40th Anniversary 911's distinguishing styling features include GT silver metallic exterior paint color (exclusive to this model and the Carrera GT), front cooling air openings adopted from the 911 Turbo, body color air intake grills, left and right sill trims, an aluminum "911" logo on the engine cover, shot-blasted, polished 18-inch Carrera wheels, and high-gloss polished exhaust tailpipes. A sliding sunroof, bi-xenon headlights with dynamic beam angle control and a headlight cleaning system complete the standard exterior features. The interior is trimmed in naturally soft dark gray leather. Other interior details include sport seats with two-stage heating; center console, seat backs and dashboard groove trim strips and handbrake lever side covers finished in GT silver metallic; aluminum-finish instrument dial rings; and a numbered "911 40th Anniversary" plaque on the center console. Production is limited to 1,963 40th Anniversary 911 models.
  6. I would suggest to go with 01C4 with GT3 Kit and Rims, consider the AeroKit Cup + Rims cost you by Tequipment >$7k w/o install! And 01 had only 6000km and that's very unused car, if that Tacho is real of course!?! and don't mind the ground clearance, it's a sportscar, it should look like it and sound like it :D C4, what I've heard runs by normal condition 95% back and 5% front and by extrem condition the PSM will devide/share the power for optimum performance and security. and of course the trunk is a bit smaller because of the AWD. if I had the $$$ to spend I would prefere the C4 than the C2, but it doesn't sound that you have any problem with spending! cheers, Tony
  7. try this website out, located in UK! Fabspeed Sport Exhaust, fitted for 875,- + VAT http://www.essentialstyling.com/fabspeed_996_exhaust.htm cheers, Tony
  8. hey auclutch, 1.5h, on one man or more? need to know if it is worth to leave to a garage to install or do it myself. thx, Tony
  9. hey Don, that's thru, but when I can get the Tequipment AeroKit Cup II (spoiler+lid) that would be the optimum because the lid is adjusted to the normal Coupé air intake and the fan, right? cheers, Tony
  10. hey Don, GT3, but I the GT3 is based on the slimbody 996? so in general means, that I can install a Coupé lid on my Cabrio! cheers, Tony
  11. hey Loren, what is the actual version for PCM I (16-bit)? how can I activate to see the version, NAV-button + Climate-button? cheers, Tony
  12. hi Mark, unfortunatly it is more than that! you will need to get the 2 new front fender too and >100 small installation parts but hey it looks great afterwards! with 4S/TT back bumper w/ dual tail-pipes on a slimbody 996 cheers, Tony
  13. hi Loren, do you have the part no. for the heat shield for MY02? I will likely get the new GT3 bumper for my MY00! cheers, Tony
  14. hey auclutch, nice pics! curious, how many hours did it take to install the sidskirts? cheers, Tony
  15. hi Carl, have you tried to eject the CD and put the CD back? eject the NAV CD with ignition off, then ignition on, hit the NAV button, PCM will tell you to Insert CD or something, insert the CD, PCM should say Software update or Initialize good luck! cheers, Tony
  16. thx guys, this means you could really get away for cheaper to just get remove vacum chamber, the grill and block the hole with the "Orange Cap" or something similar to get the same function as the Fabspeed "Cold Air Kit" and save $$$!?! seriously Fabspeed "Cold Air Kit" for $250, is it really worth it compares with the BMC CDA? cheers, Tony
  17. hey y'all, have anyone experience with Fabspeed "Cold Air Kit" upgrade? if so, how is the sound and feeling from it? one thing bothers me though, Fabspeed removes "Mass air grill" and replaced with a Carbon ring to close the gap to get the better airflow. but as we all know, "Mass air sensor" is a sensible thing on 996 and Boxster, and it's one of the most part that get damage and replace according to service statistics here in Germany and Fabspeed replace that with an open mods! is that wise? those who has this mod, do you regulary need to clean the "Mass air sensor" or have you any other issue with that? cheers, Tony
  18. hi Loren, ordered a pair of '03 sideskirts, and could you send me the TSB guide to me too? thx in advance! cheers, Tony
  19. aha, now are things much clearer about the hole topic ;-) thx again! cheers, Tony
  20. thx Gert for the complete lists of part no.! 'n another question about mods of 4S look: so this means, there are needs to get a self made tail-pipes extension for modification from C2/C4 to the 4S back bumper on the original exhausts or to get a pair of 4S exhausts and tail-pipes? cheers, Tony
  21. thx Gert, that's it then, they are mounted with an extention pipe like the <MY02 tail-pipes versions, so they have come from the C2/C4 >MY02 this means I got the wrong ones for the 4S back bumper conversion :-( well well than, I will have check if the new >MY02 back bumper fits my '00 C2 w/o major mods to mount the twin tail-pipes! cheers, Tony
  22. have 7,5Jx18 SportDesign and 225 on and it doesn't look as good as the 8Jx18, too much rubber for my taste. but the good thing with it, you got somewhat of protection for your rims! but thinking to get the ATS DTM 8.5Jx18 'n 10Jx18 http://www.9ff.de/Bilder/996_Targa-06.jpg cheers, Tony
  23. hi Loren, I got a pair of dual-pipe tips, but there are no 996.xxx. numbers on those, so how do you know if they are fitting for C2/C4 or 4S? the only no. are: EP4120 14/02, on one of them. cheers, Tony
