Could anyone tell if you could do the same thing on the Relay switch on the Boxster as for C2 MY00???

I got the same feeling as "996 from Hell", when I backed my Boxster rearbumper to a lightpole and broked even the taillight.
it was **** exspensive haircut, 1200,- euro (repair) plus 25 bucks for the haircut.
and by knowing that the car is no longer a "Virgin", but in my case I know that I caused it so it feeled somewhat OK, my own fault.
but also knowing that the rearbumper installed is a repair one, doesn't making it better, it would feel much better if they replaced the hole bumper but there wasn't an option, it was too exspensive to satisfy my innerfeeling.
u know what Mike, see in this way, after sometime (in a few month), u will make the grade to 4S rearbumper anyway and you will feel much better after that!

hey Guys,
could anyone tell if the new GT3 backbumper is the same on the 996 Facelift version?
if it is the same, is it possible to fit it w/o problem on a 996 (<MY02)?

do you have any good suggestion or recommendation to replace the orginial 996 AMP (w/ speakers at the back)?
would like the AMP to be small so it could fit back where the original is installed.
would be cool if you also could send me the scheme for the original AMP!

I'm have Pirelli Snowsport 240 N1 on 17" (7.5 + 9) TurboLook I from Mille Miglia and I would strongly recommend these Tires for the winter, great on dry and wet roads and pretty good on snow.
As the winter tires normally have softer rubber mix for the cold so driving winter tires on the summer with temp 30° - 40° on road will more or less melt your tires and they will propably not held 30k miles.

take a look at TechArt, they are able to offer sportsprings with 25mm lower and that's are very good alternative for both on the street and on the race track.

stock TT are equiped with 330mm brakediscs both Front and Back, and the suspension are 30mm lowered.
stock C2/4 are equiped with Front: 305mm and Back: 300mm
I would say, it is propably easier to install the brakesystem from a GT3 on the C2/C4
GT3 (MY03), Front: 350mm and Back: 330
On the 996 (Facelift), you can equip original sportsuspension with 30mm lower,
and I don't think they will install those on modells (MY<01).
But then there are lots of good aftermarket suspension brand like, H&R and KW

The Porsche Tequipment for 911 (996) do not supply you the 265/35 anymore and I don't think Porsche Center will sell you the 265/35 wheels anymore either unless they have the stuff in stock.

but I must say that the 265/35 on a original 10Jx18 rims looks better than the 285/30 because from the optic of the tires you will see less rubber cause of the wider rims.
but on the other hand if TechArt delivers 10,5Jx18 (0,5" ca. 14mm more than the original rim) makes about ca. 6mm more rubber on the TechArt rims so that not bad anyway!

you could w/o problem use the Porsche approved dimensions for 996 MY02, front 225/40 and back 285/30, for the TechArt Formula rims.
and for the tires, I would recommend Pirelli P-Zero Rosso N4, really great in rain and super grip on race track!
but the Michelin Pilot Sport N1 are not that bad either on the track and rain.
