  1. hey there,

it took me and a friend to install the short-shifter from B&M, dismount the center console to get out the shifter console took about 20min but and cutting off all the clips on the original bushing was hard job, as far as the installation manual say: "turn the bushing to cut the all clips", was that easy.

matter a fact, on my original shifter, there wasn't possible to turn the bushing to cut off the under laying clips, we had to use force with a hammer and screwdriver break off the clips from the bushing.

but the re-assembling of all parts were astoundly quick and easy, so all together took about <2hours

and the result, propably the best upgrade that I ever got on this car!

the B&M shifter feels robust and shift unbelievable short (u got to get use to it) and very precise, pure joy!

and the price for the shifter, hmmm.......why buy the original when you can get the B&M for 1/3 of the price!?!

    cheers,

    Tony

  2. hi keoni,

U don't need to drill any holes on the car, that's why U got the clips with hole on them!

so from the stoneguard and about 10cm inwards center of the car you will find a rail, on that rail you will be able to mount the clips, and what I remember, the hole should face towards center of the car.

hint: before mounting the clips on the rail, measure out all the holes according to the skirts, because once the clip is mounted there is some slightly difficult to remove it.

    have fun!

    cheers,

    Tony

  3. TT has wider body and therefor the lid/wing doesn't fit a slim-body Carrera C2/C4, the lid is wider than the lid on C2/C4 and fits only on C4S and GT2.

there are a few aftermarket Turbo wings for the slim-body C2/C4, the one full functional is made by RUF coming from the "R Turbo" but could imagine to be very $$$

some other alternative would be from NR Auto or MASHAW, but then the upper wings is fixed, not speedsensing like the original TT wings.

    cheers,

    Tony

  4. hey (my996),

I installed them with a couple of friends, got to loan a full raised car jack, much easier to fix the Clips under the car.

One thing though, take care where to place the jack at the rear wheel, because of the mounting of the back skirt.

for 650,- euro was also painting included

had to recall a favour at the paintshop!

but the price is correct, see the official Tequipment Germany

thx for the nice words of my car :clapping: , the side skirts makes a lot I would say my self.

    cheers,

    Tony

  5. thx Arthur,

the only thing is, you have really mark out where all the clips to be mounted under the car (should be place where all the holes on the skirts), while once the clips mounted they are really hard to pull it back out!

btw. must give it to Porsche, very clever, to mount the skirts in that way, w/o drilling holes, that means also no rost possible.

another thing maybe, should be aware of the temprature so the doublesided adhesive foil really stick to carbody!

a good tip: you could take help with a hairdryer to heat up the body

    cheers,

    Tony

  6. hey there,

have anyone seen such sets of wheel of a Porsche?

    BBSRE_obw.jpg

suppose to be deliverable by wheelenhancement.com

this looks like what Ferrari 360 Modena Challange standard wheels (BBS CH) and at the official BBS website (www.bbs.com), this partically model doesn't excist.

I haven't seen BBS been able to deliver such a wheel for Porsche here in Europe, only the LeMan (LM)

    cheers,

    Tony

  7. hi Rich,

got mine MY00 C2 Cabrio last August, also switched from a MY98 Boxster 2.5L, and I had the choice of MY99 and MY00 and I picked the -00 because there were a lots of improvement on the electronic and engine on the MY00 from the MY99, ex. MY99 had only TC (TractionControl) and MY00 had PSM installed. Also some engine improvement too, but can't say anything about that really.

but hey, that's all depends on the "ching-ching" you have to pay in between a MY99 and MY00, and of course all the extras in the car makes also a great deal when choosing .

handling, of course the power makes a lots of different between the Boxster and 996, now I mean the Boxster 2.5L & 2.7L, like karlooz said the S propably can beat 996 (3.4L) in all field but a 911 is always a 911.

of course the Cabrio version of 996 is not as rigid as Coupé and not even comparable with the Boxster but you will still see 996 Cabrio on the racetrack though. so I would also go for the Cabrio version otherwise you will miss it stepping from the Boxster.

    cheers,

    Tony
