  1. Thanks Lee. Spoke with him this am.
  2. need a referral for a PPI in the bay area. car is a 1977 911 3.0 thank you in advance for your help. toby
  3. Congrats Daniel. 11 P-cars over the years! nice work. toby
  4. for what its worth, i was quoted $1,000 USD to respray front bumper. seemed a bit steep to me, and as a result, im still staring at the 4 license plate holes.
  5. is that a prancing horse? are you driving a cayennetta?
  6. FVD Brombacher also sells them. I was all set to install but was put off by the cost to have installed. http://www.fvd.de/us/en/Porsche-0/-/-/-/qsearch/show/VID_25780736-VCD_77441740-sort_4-display_50/Porsche-Tuning-Search.html?SearchValue=grill+set&x=0&y=0
  7. FVD Brombacher, Inc. has em in black and silver. i am partial to the mesh running at a 45 degree angle. a little pricey but cut to fit. plan on ordering them in black for my arctic silver 997.1c2s any thoughts.
  8. Joee, My advice would be to wait for the car you really want, regardless of color/resale value etc. if you truly love the car, you wont regret a thing. in fact, even if you bought a porsche in a color you didn't love, you probably wouldn't regret it.
  9. have been a member here for a while and currently own a 2007 C2S, which i love. have been bitten by the bug, and have been looking for an older air-cooled car. i am not a wrench and therefore want to make sure i do not make a huge mistake. found a 1979 911 sc with 140k miles and just love the look. am a bit concerned though as to the history and care of any car that is 30+ years old. any pearls of wisdom out there? t
  10. i too agree that using a clay bar with some good quick detail spray as a lubricant is the easiest way to make your car really stand out. t
  11. my car came with terracotta mats to match most of the interior (have deviating dash). went with black lloyd mats and they are great quality and tie the interior together. dont think i have a pic (maybe with original mats for a before) will have to work on an after. the lloyds matts are super plush and high quality.
  12. love it devil. great car in great condition. currently own an '07 997 s but seem to be catching the early air cooled bug lately.
  13. recently received the porsche branded battery tender as a gift. my car is not a daily driver, and the ease of use, coupled with quicker starts and peace of mind, make it well worth the money. yes, you can buy cheaper battery tenders (even the same one minus the porsche logo). but c'mon.
  14. erik, car looks great. glad you went with the S. and your options are spot on. congrats biopsea
  15. welcome black stig. love the screen name. my buddy was actually the american stig!!!! my 997.1 seems to crank slowly as well. runs perfect but i also wondered about this. interesting lubrication theory. never heard it before but... again, welcome and hope you enjoy your p car as much i have. toby
  16. while i am not up to date on the boxter, i wanted to welcome you to the club. MORE IMPORTANTLY, thank you for serving. saw this picture the other day. think its called the aerokit II? not sold on the rear spoiler, but.....
  17. very interesting. never knew. love this forum. ps - will be sending a contribution soon ;-)
  18. suncoast porsche has them for 29 bucks USD. great experience with them in the past. super easy install.
  19. Yes Phillip, you are correct. sounds like our cars were previously owned by the same ham-fisted chap. four holes, each heading in a different direction. so its either re-spray or upgrade to aerokit front end.
  20. Hey Paul, I thought of putting in the plugs (esp considering all the good words regarding Eric). However, four holes are just too many. my other thought was to have the OE bumper re-sprayed, while painting the lower inlets either black or the same color as my wheels (in hopes of creating a very subtle but more aggressive look similar to gt3. could go one step further and add lower lip in same color as inlets. feel like this would be very subtle but look amazing). thanks guys (and possibly gals) for all your input.
  21. Little t -

thanks for your kind words regarding my p-car. love your car as well, and your photography is amazing.

hope you enjoy Road Atlanta. Cool place.

on another subject, I too am looking at a car exclusivley for the track. had my scca license in a formula mazda but need to find something a little more accomodating (6'3'' 240). saw the pictures of your ...

  22. never been a fan of the speedsters, although i am sure this car has much more presence in person (a la panamera). what i cant seem to grasp is the apparent contradiction on the left. hmmmm.
