  1. I have a 1998 986 Boxster with heated seats. The passenger side works fine, but the driver side does not. When you push the switch, the red light blinks on and that is all I get. I already swapped the switches to check that and It is definately something downstream of the switches. I'm thinking I might have a short somewhere? Anyone experience this before or have any ideas? Update: 10-10-10 Fixed the problem! Tested the continuity of both of the two wire connectors under the seat and found that one of them has a break. Traced it to the seat back and removed the lumbar pad. Peeled back the bottom of the cloth liner to reveal the wire had become seperated from the heating element in the foam pad. Cleaned and re-soldered. Put it back in the car and it now works fine.
