  1. hi all, my car is a 99 2.5 986 Uk spec the central locking has stopped working. I found moisture under the seat, took out the alarm ecu and it wasnt visibly damp. The car sounds like its trying to lock and the boot (trunk)will open using the remote key. I took the car to a porsche specialist who thought it could be an issue with door locks, they tried that and it didnt solve the problem, they are now saying they think it is the alarm ecu after all. Surely if the locks are making a noise like they are trying to lock then the ecu is doing its job, i.e. its picking up the signal from the key fob and then trying to lock the doors.
