  1. Sorry, I misread the section as Panamera S, +4S, +Turbo. Completely missed the 970 section. Should I repost this, or give up as a total bad idea? My first post, and I make a hash of it.
  2. Yes, sorry I should have mentioned that in the post, but I genuinely found the car so amazing I wanted to write up my experience, and I thought it would be of interest to this particular forum.
  3. I had the very good fortune to be able to drive the stunning new Porsche 3.8L Turbo at the World Press Launch at the Estoril Circuit in Portugal. Man, what a car! The 7 speed PDK gearbox worked beautifully, and the launch control was simply mind blowing. I managed to record the 0-200km/h with launch control at the track with a Video VBOX (in-car video system with data overlay Video VBOX website), so I got some great video and all of the figures. 0-60 in 3.2s! Amazing. I also did a number of laps around the circuit, and the new PTV system (Porsche Torque Vectoring) worked a treat and the turn in was simply stunning. The engine is now 3.8 Litres and running with direct injection and a Porsche version of a dry sump. Combined with the Variable Geometry turbo, the extra capacity and efficiency means the boost is only 0.8bar in normal use, so the turbo lag is now virtually non-existent. In Sports Plus mode it has extra torque, a total of 700Nm (516 lb/ft), and the acceleration out of the corners was staggering. The new paddles were a welcome addition, and the 7 speed PDK system worked fantastically with the Turbo engine. Quite simply an incredible car, I've driven the GT-R as well, but this is in a different league. Here is a picture I took:
