Is it normal for a 1999 911 Carrera 2 to make a groaning type noise why applying positive pressure to the gas pedal in 2nd gear?

Sounds like a disturbed shift cable (forwards-backwards) adjustment, as "phillipj" said, there exists a special adjustment tool to solve the problem.
Do you know of a website where I can find the tool?

Loren is the site admisistrator. He has a lot of knowledge with P cars. Hopefully he will respond to your post and give you some guidance. He has done a lot of short shift kit DIY's and has experience with the issues of the shift cables.
It would help if you stated the exact year and model of your car and mileage. As well as past issues (if any) with your transmission.

My car is a 99 C2 with 88K the transmission was replaced about 7k ago before I purchased it. What advice can you give me.

I am having problems with my gears in my car. Occasionally my car cannot find reverse, 1, 3 or 5th gears. If I move the shifter around a lot it will find the gears again. Can anyone tell me what might be causing this?
1999 Carrera Noise while Accelerating

It is hard for me to describe the noise the car is making I bought it with 81,000 miles on it and now it has 90,000 miles on it and it has always made the sounds. Don't 911's have a characteristic sound. I think groaning may not be the best way to describe the noise. I would describe it almost sounding like the car wants to take off, maybe be kind of a whining noise. Would you think this is normal? I am in the process of trying to sell the car and I don't want to sell it with problems.
