  1. Hello ALL- I had my water pump replaced approximately 2 years ago with an OEM pump, after topping off my car with coolant the water temp now goes a bit past the standard 12PM position, I did not burp it, can this cause the slight over heating issue? Could someone lend a bit more advice on how exactly to use the "burp top" that is located over the fill hole. Thanks!!!
  2. Strangest thing, got in the car the next morning oil level was 4 bars, no warning and idle is 2.5-3 so all is well. I think my 997 has become self-aware. Regardless thanks for the advice!! Now where is that dontation button ;-) :-)
  3. 06 997S 104k When I check my oil I am full bars now, when I am at idle every once in a while, when my car is hot I get a Oil Level too low. I read that if you over fill the oil this can cause this, I did just add some oil in as I was at 2 bars 20 mins before. Thoughts on this? My question is at idle what is the sensor suppose to read? Anyone heard of similar or my expected cost to repair an oil sensor and or pump. Thanks in Advance!!
  4. Anyone ever replace the Brake Light on 997.1S, the one at the bottom of the window see attached. :thankyou:
  5. I recently have the same issue and also see the headlights tilt when starting has anyone out there found a fix or what is the cause? Would love a DIY on this as the lights shine bright
  6. On the way home last night my nightmare started. In lower revs felt a shutter from under the car next thing you know grinding. Then raising the clutch a bunch of grinding clunks and bangs and finally won't move Dropped off at PORSCHE :-( HIGH MILEAGE 99,600 S 997.1 Any rough ideas on what this might be and cost to rebuild at a local lower cost PORSCHE shop. I cannot afford to go NEW and yes I am out of warranty. :censored:
  7. Hello All & Loren :-) I am at 98k on my 06 997-1 S. Warranty is up in a few hundred miles and would like some feedback as to the cost of ownership and some advice as to keeping it or not. I expect minor issues, but cannot afford any major failures engine wise. Really looking for some high mileage 911ers out there to respond. Thanks ALL!! New items include: Starter Alternator Transmission - Rebuilt Syncro 3 & 4 Water Pump Clutch @ 60k :thankyou:
  8. I recently (as in 3 months ago) replaced the Starter & Battery in my 997S Approx 96k miles. When I did it no longer was hard to start and cranked perfectly with plenty of power. Then tonight I turned the key heard a clunk and then nothing ... not even an attempt to turn over. Lights flash really bright and then it clicks really loud but thats it. I have the PORSCHE dealer picking it up in the AM. Before I replaced my battery I have heard from a few other 997 owners, that starters go bad after 90k miles or at least wear out so I had a new one put in as well ..... So very nervous anyone had a similar experience. :lightbulb:
  9. Will jot these down tonight. I think it was these codes but will check again to be sure. I know when REFERENCED the code it was the same as your thread below. GREAT STUFF: http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/10184-cel-p0410-p1411/
  10. Using my Durametric I see a few errors all poing to the secondary air injection system. With the 4th tomorrow just looking at how much/bad this is going to be, any input or advice is MUCH appreciated. 997.1S 85k Miles  Stephen
  11. Ok let me ask is there a major different in how long the Chome tips look clean as opposed to the polished T-6 stainless steel. Like Tony I also had my OEM tips polished for $80 but the sweet chome look really only lasted about a month. Anyone out there had both?
  12. Hello again all: I am looking for some inexpensive Chome Exhaust Tips for my 06' 997.1 S. Anyone have any ideas here ... notice I said inexpensive :-) Something like this but not $900: http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/techart-twin-oval-chrome-exhaust-tips-porsche-p-53387.html Also is it true the Chrome exhaust tips do not get the OEM burnt look? :thankyou:
