  1. Check out my blog on this Product claims and dynos -- and reality Great Blog post. That seems to be my feelings, 40 years of German engineering and a $500 chip is gonna give me +20HP .. right :-|. That was my first thought. Have you ever heard of a Veteran 911 driver who has had success in ECU land. A 997 Turbo is way out of my bracket BTW. Perhaps I am trying to squeeze blood from my new toy. So look at this graph and make your own decisions on what possible and what is not. Look at 5500-5600 rpm area. http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/album.p...;pictureid=8782 Cool thanks for the info, which brings me to the $$Million question. Are you running a tuned ECU chip on your 06? if so where did you get it? Don't get me wrong all the DYNO info out there is nice, but due to the world of Photoshop it simply doesn't mean much. I would like to keep this thread open, what I would much rather hear is from someone with a few hundred post tell me "Hey I got a tuned ECU chip and IT ROCKS or IT SUCKS". Thanks again for the info BTW.

  3. Thinking about chipping my 997-1 S not sure where to post but have a few questions: 2006 997-1 S Coupe Manual US Has anyone had a bad experience with this or actually didn't feel any BIG difference? Can I do it myself? What is a good price Installed and also if I install it myself? Can someone direct me to a thread that discusses this? :thankyou:
  4. Murphy's Law and to my amazement haven't heard the sound since I posted it. I have read with a Porsche to not worry so much unless a sound\issue is occurring frequent enough that it can be traced. After spending 50k can't really afford to start swapping parts Thoughts on this?? Thanks Again Guys
  5. Well finally caught this sound on my iPhone. Of course didn't do it in the shop. I did pass on the forum suggestions to him and he checked oil pressure relief valve and belts. I am talking at the beginning but you can hear the squeal on start : Sound File Link This might be a first 997-1 squeal caught on iPhone. Thanks Guys, :help:
  6. send a PM to Porschelibrarian. I guess he is able to provide you what you need ;) PS: unfortunately I (and some others) did not get any reply for some time now. Sorry for the sluggish response but Porschelibrarian got me going BIG thanks all :clapping:
  7. 2006 997-1 S Coupe 38K Miles I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to the BEST repair manual for my 06' 997S. :renntech:
  8. Thanks for all the feedback. Will keep everyone posted as to what fixes it... if and hopefully when that occurs. ;)
  9. Got it. So when you say check should I look for wear, leaks ??? Would you guys recommend a fair online source for parts. BTW Pretty cool to post without any sarcasm as a reply. Great forum I'm off to donate. Thanks
  10. 2006 911 S - Coupe 38,000 miles Hello all Got a Sweet deal after saving over 4 years on a 06 911 S with 38k The car has been checked out by a local tech German Tech (they work on GT2's) I can't seem to replicate this while in his shop. When the car starts I get a 1 second squeal almost sounds like belt slip, so I did have him replace the belt, but it is still there maybe once a day, course it's intermittent happens in High and Low humidity. Any thoughts or feedback would be welcomed. Yes I am a newbie but I CAN'T BELIEVE I finally own a 911 squeal or no squeal :P Thanks, Stephen
