  1. :lightbulb: Hey, I have a Porsche 2.7 Boxster 2001 equipped with Becker CDR 22 audio system. As I am getting tired of having a gazillion cds in the car I would like to connect my i-pod and I would appreciate it if you could tell me what my options are. I asked Porsche in Greece and they quoted a rediculous price of 1,000 euro. I also checked with shops specializing in stereo equipment for cars and they gave me a price of about 250-400 euro which sounds more reasonable. Where is the i-pod connected? Is there a special case/holder which is mount on the central console as a docking station for the i-pod (something similar to the docking station for a mobile phone) or is the i-pod free standing somewhere in the car? Also how do I operate the i-pod? Do I have access thru the Becker system or do I access its functions directly from the -pod? Thanks for the help, Ibro
  2. :lightbulb: Joee, No, I still have not received my decals, and as far as I am concerned I never will. What do you mean that the supplier is nasty? Did he reply to your e-mails? I havene't received any answer in any of the five e-mails that I have sent him so far. However, you have to give it to the guy. He was really fast putting in the charges to my credit card for the decals so why bother for a couple of months delay? Anyway, I don't know what else to do on this... THX Ibro
  3. :lightbulb: I understand all this about fast delivery and all orders going ok, but the reality is that I still don't have the decals, I have been charged for the amount involved from the same day of the order and most important of all I have received no reply in all the three e-mails that I have sent so far to Richie. So I guess that yes something must have gone wrong with this order. I don't mean to be ironic or snap at anybody - even for a second - I am just upset about this issue. THX again for all the inputs so far. THX Ibro
  4. :lightbulb: It's now almost one month and a half after the placement of the order for the decals and still no news. I have tried sending a couple of e-mails directly to the person handling the order - as Loren suggested - but again no repply. I think I am getting a little upset on this and maybe I will just call it a day and let it be missing because I don't see any light at the end of this tunnel! Ibro
  5. :lightbulb: Very very nice shots! The car looks great. I am thinking that in the near future I will try to source a supplier to change my top with glass window instead of the plastic too. Ibro
  6. :lightbulb: Loren, Thanks again for the help, however I still have nothing. I did e-mail direclty but no repply came back and I still have not recieved anything (and it has been almost a month now since the order placement. THX Ibro Ps. I don't know if Joee recieved the decals but I certainly haven't and I guess that if they were in the mail we should have recieved them by now. Any help?
  7. :lightbulb: Guys, I need your help on thisone. On 26th of August I ordered a pair of personalized decals from this site for my Boxster. As until yesterday I had not recieved anything in the mail I replied back to the supplier of the decals (xenonmods.com) asking about the status of the order. So far zip! ??? Ibro
  8. :lightbulb: Hey, I have stainless steel entry guards on my '01 Seal Grey Boxster (the ones with the Boxster logo) and they look great. The truth is that no matter what you do either the door sills or the guards will have to get scratched at some point. But I like the guards, which you can replace if need be in the future. I would suggest you go for the stainless steel ones - It also depends on the color of your car. For example I think that Nephrite Green does not go very well with CF guards, but that's somewhat subjective to personal taste. THX Ibro
  9. :lightbulb: Since, the cut is still unnoticable (less than 0.5 centimeters) do you think that sealing it off with a decal sticker on the inside could work? THX Ibro
  10. :lightbulb: Guys, I have a Boxster 986 2.7 MY 2001. I bought it three months ago from Germany. I live in Athens, Greece - so lot's of sunshine and reason to put the top down. Yesterday I had the car washed and I noticed droplets of water inside the cabin right in the middle between the roll bars. I looked carefully, because so far the car was totally perfect and never before let any water in and I noticed that a slight cut on the plastic window right next to the sims (where it is attached to the black fabric of the roof) allowed water to come in. The cut is very slight, unoticable (less than half a centimeter) and it is in the top upper part of the plastic window where it is attached to the black fabric. By the way it is totally centered horizontally. What do you suggest that I do? i.e. do you think that is is fixable by the dealer without replacing the whole window? Will it tear itself further? How about if I stick a small sticker on the inside side like a decal for example to seal it off? Any suggestions? What is rougly the cost of replacing the plastic window? I am very reluctant to having the dealer fix it by placing a patch as it will look terrible, while a sticker (like a decal could look ok), especially since the cut it is horizontally centered. THX Ibro
  11. :lightbulb: Thanks for the answers and the pic. I don't think I ever saw the pads in my car. I' ll call the local dealer and ask if they come as a separate item. THX again, Ibro
  12. :lightbulb: Ok, here goes a silly issue: The mat-carpet under my feet keeps moving to the front side all the time and when I am driving I have to constantly keep pulling it back under my feet. It still has the velcro surface on its underside but the matching opposite velcro surface (which I think is supposed to be on the top side of the main carpet of the car) is not there. Is this an extra, or it should have been there (I bought the car a month ago, second hand). Any ideas on how to solve this? THX Ibro
  13. :lightbulb: I have a Boxster 986 (MY 2001) and sometime during fall I would like to change my tyres as they may be wearing out. Currently the car wears ContiSportContact 205/50 ZR 17 front and 255/40 ZR 17 back. The rate is N1. What would you suggest as the best trye for the car? Note that I am driving it in Athens Greece, which means lots of sun but also some rain and sheldom any snow. Temparatures in winter can drop to 0-5 degrees Celcius (that's in the low range of thrities for Farenheit) and they can go up to 32-38 degrees Celcius in the Summer (100+ in Farenheit). I am using the car as my main vehicle and only on streets (not involved in racing or any other competitive activity). However, I do like to push it both in straights and in corners (high acceleration and braking). Any help? THX Ibro
  14. :lightbulb: I have a 986 Boxster (MY 2001) bought second hand from Germany (and brought to Greece) with Litronics as part of its standard equipment. Soemtimes when I turn the Litronics on from position 1 (indicator lights) to position 2 (lights full on) there is a slight static noise which I observe (for a fraction of a second) as a miniscule interuption in the sound of my cd player (CDR 22 - also standard equipment). This does not happen all the times (mostly when the car is cold and the lights are turned on for the first time). Is this normal? Do you have any idea what it might be? THX Ibro
  15. :lightbulb: Hey, I have a Boxster 2.7 (MY 2001) with a sound package and a CDR 22 sound system. I want to add a 6 disc cd changer but I don't want to have it installed on the front luggage compartment, as everytime that I will need to change a cd I will have to go out of the car. I have noticed that right behind the co-passenger seat there is a free space at the bottom on which I can put a the cd changer. Has anyone done this before? Will there be space for a 10 disc changer or the 6 disc one is the largest one can fit in there? THX Ibro
