  1. so since the 996 C4S uses the same brakes as the 996 turbo, I assume I use the same minimum measurements? front 33.5 mm rear 27.5 mm
  2. I opened a bottle of Porsche brake fluid about two years ago. Is it still good? or should I throw it away?
  3. doubleD - so basically turn the gas handle upside-down? post #5 says turn it to the 9 o'clock position, so that is 90 degrees. You are saying 180 degrees. just checking...
  4. it's also not consistently a problem for me. it does seem that my car has issues with the newer, faster pumping stations. I agree, not a major issue, but annoying. Anyone else have any ideas why this is happening?
  5. I have a 2002 Carrera 4S Coupe that never seems to fill up completely at the gas station. FWIW, I usually fill up at Chevrons. The pump will go until it's about 7/8 full, then stop. Basically, the pump stops automatically before it's completely full. Sometimes, if I can guess how many more gallons I need, I'll top it off, but I don't like doing that for fear of spilling gasoline everywhere. I had the same problem on my 2003 Boxster S that the dealer could not fix. Does anyone else have this problem or know what the reason/fix is? I've searched this forum, but couldn't find anything. TIA
  6. Does anyone know the exact size for a 2002 C4S caliper decal? I've seen people say it's 3.5 x .245" but when I measured it, seemed more like 3.0" x .245" Does anyone know for sure? Is it the same for Front and Rear? TIA
  7. Thanks Tool Pants. How long will the entire job take? Also, could you put together a list of all parts I'll need? Where do you suggest I buy it?

  9. I need a brake service on my 03 Boxster S. How much time will this take if I did DIY. This include, rotors, pads, brake flush. I don't own any tools, so do you think it's feasible for me to show up with the parts and expect to borrow some tools? How much should I expect parts to cost? I'll bring donuts! :D Thanks in advance, Brian
  10. Hi Loren, I'm interested in a work on cars day. Can you let me know when the next one is? Thanks
  11. Hello, I have a 2003 Boxster S with Bose with a CDR-23 head unit. Will the CDC-4 changer work in this car? From what I understand, there are a couple different varieties of the CDC-4. I am buying the changer used. Type: CDC 4 Modell-No: BE 6605 Serial-No: C00+0184 Porsche 996.645.140.02 VW-P/N: 7L5.035.111A How difficult is the installation? What other parts will I need. Thanks in advance, Brian
  12. I have a 2003 US version Boxster S with the CDR-23 headunit. Bose. Which CD changer is compatible? The CDC-3 or CDC-4? TIA, Brian
  13. Which dealer did you take it to and who was your service advisor? Honestly... it must have been minimal to even notice. The mechanic at the dealer noticed it while he had it on the lift (im guessing) i was lucky that they told me that it was leaking and they changed it. if you dont have any stains on your drive way then i wouldnt worry.... do you still have warranty? if so then you should take advantage and take it in. I was really surprised on how honest they were. They changed also both of my window motors even though I had a problem with only one of them. Since they changed the rear main seal I also got a free oil change out of this one. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  14. Hello, I have owned a CPO 2003 Boxster S for about 3 months now. 33,000 miles. I hear a minor squeal when braking. I also noticed that one wheel gets especially dirty immediately after washing the car. It almost looks like the sound could be coming from the same wheel that gets really dirty. Looks like the calipers are rubbing against something that it is not supposed to. Looks like rust. Any ideas or is this normal? Thanks, Brian
