  1. Durametric has done nothing to help so far other than show me that there are no error codes. Tested fuel pump relay contacts with a fused jumper wire but still no start. It turns over but it does not even attempt to fire. It's like theres no fuel or no spark. I guess the fuel pump could be dead? Where is it located and how could i test it? Thanks.
  2. I have driven it since I installed the coils and it ran great, then I went to start it and will not fire up. turns over but no love. Gotta be fuel or spark but the no spark is tricky given that there are alot of possibilities. Almost like the DME cut the engine. Hoping the Crankshaft position sensor will be the culprit. I'm open to ideas... Thanks all. Also, will the ignition switch failure keep the car from starting all together (like the old ...click....crickets....click...) or what I am seeing where it actually turns over but won't start?
  3. 2002 996 6spd. I had a misfire on the passenger side bank of cylinders a few weeks ago that lasted until I shut it off at my destination and would stay after restarting. Happened again just recently. Odd because 99% of the time I drive it, it runs perfectly. Then all of a sudden car died while driving. Lost all power like pulling the plug. Would not restart, but I had power to all electronics and it turned over no problem. Let it set for 15 minutes. Started right up no issues. 2 days later I replace all three coils on the suspect pass. cylinders (new plugs 1k ago), runs great to work. Come out after work , won't start. I am suspecting fuel pump or fp relay. I am also suspecting the crankshaft position sensor, where is this located and is it a biotch to get at? Anything else to suspect? I'm borrowing a Durametric today. Update...Car will not start at all now. Ordered fuel pump relay and crankshaft position sensor and will install as soon as they arrive (tomorrow). Has anyone replaced the crankshaft sensor? Thanks.
  4. Hello, New owner here of MY02 Carrera. Loving it! Coming from the BMW world where I knew all the tricks and now i'm starting from the bottom with the Porsche. I'm trying to figure out how to get both of my keys to work for the remote lock/unlock. I've searched but not seen a situation listed like mine... 1. Both keys start the car properly. 2. Red key (red at the top of the blade) works in the ignition and properly for lock/unlock. 3. Yellow key (yellow bit at the top of the blade) works in the ignition but does nothing for lock/unlock. I don't get a lit red LED on the key when pushing the buttons either. I would like to reset the one (yellow) key so they both work without somehow disabling both keys and screwing myself. I have no idea where to start and I have searched many posts and googled but only return things like "see the dealer" which is OK for most, but I personally like to know how everything works. (Unless that is my only option...but I would hope I could recover the functionality since it is not a new key. Thanks. :D
