  1. Thx for your info. Will you be able to post a photo to share with us? This sounds like an interesting modification. Here's a link to a short clip on Youtube which will give you an idea of the sound. I'll take some pictures of the modification and post them up at the weekend.
  2. I recently bought a 997.1 C2S that has a standard exhaust system which has been modified with the addition of some bypass tubes. Basically a link pipe of approximately 40mm diameter has been welded in between the input and output pipes on both rear silencers just a few centimeters before the pipes attach to the silencer boxes. Obviously holes need to be cut in the pipes to allow the gas flow through the bypass tubes The sound is amazing !!! I've owned many Porsches, Ferrari's, Lotus etc and this is undoubtedly the nicest sounding car I've ever had. Everyone who has heard this car since I bought it agrees. It's a cheap and relatively easy modification with incredible results. I'll try to post a video on youtube and you can hear for yourself.
  3. I'm running 19" rims on my 996 C4 with 305 30's on the rear and apart from the ride being a bit harsh it handles absolutely fine. [/img]http://i111.photobuc...arcfort/19s.png[/img
  4. Exactly what I've done for now. It cleaned up perfectly and I've sprayed it with cavity wax so I shouldn't have any problem getting the car through it's annual test. Would still like to replace it in the longer term as I intend to hold onto the car long term and pass it onto my son. Had a good look at tonight and replacement looks straightforward so I'll takle the job in the winter months when the car's off the road. Thanks.
  5. Hi Folks I've just been checking over the brakes of my 996 prior to taking it for it's annual inspection (MOT) due at the end of this month. All seems well except for some light corrosion on the front to rear brake pipe where it exits the undertray adjacent to the gearbox. Probably could clean it up to get it through the test but I want to replace it as soon as poss. Has anyone on here ever replaced the front to rear brake pipe on their 996 or know the procedure. Thanks in advance for any advice. Cheers
