  1. I would rather do this one myself. The Porsche center for highway robbery (dealership) is right by my house so if need be I can just have AAA bring it there if I just can't do it on my own. From what others have said the tool to get in the tank isn't needed and as long as you run most of the gas out of the tank things go well.

Really the only question I have now is can I install the new pump and then run it over to the dealership for them to calibrate it?

I trust you, Loren, and if you say don't attempt this one myself I most likely won't, but I would like to try to do this as I rarely get to work on the Porsche as I have my Supra and other past cars.

    Let me know

  2. thanks for your help. would that explain the lockup on the trunk though? or the other door not unlocking? Sorry I don't want to seem like I am second guessing you I just want to figure this out before i dive through a bunch of repairs. Luckily for me this occured 150 miles from my home and just as far from the nearest person who knows what a porsche is much less how to work on one. So diving in on this myself I'm just trying to get it right the first time.

    Thanks again for your help!

  3. The other day I went to start my car and everything seemed fine until i noticed no interior lights came on and the car did not turn on with the key. I looked and the flashing light on the radio was flashing and everything seemed fine until I noticed the the passenger side door had not opened when I manually unlocked the car (key fob battery low). I just assumed the batter was dead and went to pop the front hood but the latch would not move for the front or rear to pop open. I just installed an Optima red top into the car not two months ago but somehting seems really wrong. Any insight would be more than helpful. The car is a 1999 Carrera 4

  4. Everyone seems to have this problem at first and freak out about it. And it is a scary feeling the first time you notice it when your Porsche could be ripping itself to pieces or something. There is a whole thread if you search all about the engine shuddering slightly. It seems to just happen to everyone. It's honestly not a problem nor is there anyway to stop it. If you pop your hood you'll see that giant engine brace to keep your engine on its mounts. Next time you get into your car and it does that don't worry it's more of a pat yourself on the back for having a powerful engine moment.
