  1. I would rather do this one myself. The Porsche center for highway robbery (dealership) is right by my house so if need be I can just have AAA bring it there if I just can't do it on my own. From what others have said the tool to get in the tank isn't needed and as long as you run most of the gas out of the tank things go well. Really the only question I have now is can I install the new pump and then run it over to the dealership for them to calibrate it? I trust you, Loren, and if you say don't attempt this one myself I most likely won't, but I would like to try to do this as I rarely get to work on the Porsche as I have my Supra and other past cars. Let me know
  2. I'm about to attempt to swap out the fuel pump on my 1999 C4 myself. I was wondering if anyone else had done this, or if anyone knew where i can find a good DIY manual for how to do this.
  3. Well with all the great reviews (I've even seen Loren post about this exhaust mod) I'm pretty sure I'm dead set on it. What is the best way to contact you, Darin?
  4. Will I need a tune after installing the modified mufflers? Also the fact that your wife likes them is a huge plus. I'm always worried about "ruining" my car being a pretty big purist the usual test is that if women like it, then its usually safe to say its a worthy upgrade.
  5. Does anyone have the optional ceramic coating. Is it worth getting?
  6. Would there be a tune needed after swapping mufflers?
  7. I hate to sounds like I have no clue what I am doing here but could anyone give me a complete parts list and where I should order them from. Any help is gladly appreciated!
  8. thanks for your help. would that explain the lockup on the trunk though? or the other door not unlocking? Sorry I don't want to seem like I am second guessing you I just want to figure this out before i dive through a bunch of repairs. Luckily for me this occured 150 miles from my home and just as far from the nearest person who knows what a porsche is much less how to work on one. So diving in on this myself I'm just trying to get it right the first time. Thanks again for your help!
  9. The other day I went to start my car and everything seemed fine until i noticed no interior lights came on and the car did not turn on with the key. I looked and the flashing light on the radio was flashing and everything seemed fine until I noticed the the passenger side door had not opened when I manually unlocked the car (key fob battery low). I just assumed the batter was dead and went to pop the front hood but the latch would not move for the front or rear to pop open. I just installed an Optima red top into the car not two months ago but somehting seems really wrong. Any insight would be more than helpful. The car is a 1999 Carrera 4
  10. I was thinking about installing a fabspeed cat delete system on my carrera 4. Has anyone used these? Are there any downsides to the cat delete systems? How much horsepower can i expect to gain higher in the rpms?
  11. I recently purchased a 1999 Carrera 4 and was looking at the deck spoiler and saw I had all the equipement for the spoiler but I do not have a button inside the car that I know of to raise it. Does anyone know if the car should have a switch somewhere or does the 1999 model only have a speed at which it is powered up?
  12. It was +2 at 9602. Thank you so much for your help having people like you on the forums makes it so much easier to own and love these cars. Thanks again, Sean
  13. Same old story.... Becker 1 CDR-220 Type 4462 Serial # X5024596 48/98 Thanks in advance for your help
  14. I was looking at recaro seats and was wondering if anyone knows the measurements of the distance side to side and front to back of the seat slider holes under the drivers seat I just assumed it would be faster if someone else had this information than to take my own seat out just to reinstall. thank.
