  1. Hi , I seem to have the same problem after a battery change! Tried the advice, but no joy. Durametric finds no faults?? Did you resolve the issue?
  2. Eventually found the time, Replaced a small section of the wiring and things are fine! Lets hope there are no more dramas!!
  3. I have replaced the sender, so its not that. Time to make the temporary repair more permanent. Watch this space!
  4. made a temporary repair just to check out the sender and any other problems. sender problem is still there so will replace that first. $1239 (jeepers) means £1250 GBP plus labour at £120 GBP an hour.............. I think i will have to check my insurance to see if it will cover the full repair
  5. its item 1 on the diagram. Part number 987-607-001-001/2/3/5 but i need to check engine/chassis number to be accurate
  6. what is the best way to proceed? A repair or new engine wiring harness? What's the cost of a engine wiring harness replacement?
  7. I've managed to take a few pictures of the area, I it looks like rodent damage to the wiring! OMG........
  8. Hello again, My 2005 987 is becoming a dog!. (29000 miles) In the last 500miles I've had to have replaced a hazard warning switch, ignition module and rear springs. (£1000 ($1500) poorer) Having just has the rear springs replaced by the main dealer, on the drive home I now have an oil level sender failure indication. I have run the durametric tester and it confirms this fault. How easy is it to replace the oil-level sender myself? Any help/advice appreciated
  9. Hello again, On trying to withdraw the ignition key after driving the key sticks in the lock. I can remove it using the emergency release tool. Having investigated this problem, it would appear i need a new ignition key starter module. Does anyone know if it is a straight swap or will I need a new key and/or fob as well? The main dealer wont impart this information Many thanks
  10. Took it to the main dealer in the end. A faulty switch. £10($16) switch £108($173) to fit it. Never again! Durametric here i come!
  11. I am right to assume if i managed to solve the problem by chance or it cleared of it own accord , the hazards would not continuously flash?
  12. If the durametric gave an error code with the alarm or associated inputs, would resetting clear the fault or would it still have to go to the main dealer for investigation? I can still drive the car on trip of less than 5 mins before the hazards go off
  13. Wasn't the turn indicator as all the hazard warning lights are on. I've now tried locking/unlocking the car leaving the various alarm activation(front/rear trunk, soft top locking handle, glove box, compartment sensor) points open. Only the front bonnet lock gave no horn. A quick clean sorted that but the hazards are still come on. Im wondering if i need an alarm reset?
