  1. Hey Kristian, let us know how the replacement D2S's work out. I just bought some Litronics for my 996 and was wondering on lifespan/replacement cost for the OEM bulbs. Ed.
  2. 1st & current Pcar- 00 Arctic Silver Cab Tip - at 43
  3. I just did the Trans fluid/filter in my 00 Cab Tip. We used Pentosin for ZF. IIRC, it had the 71141 # on it... it didn't seem messy, it was slightly; but the car was on a lift. It would be a bear in a private drive with the rear wheels off the ground. I read on RL it was 5 litres, but with spillover, it was pretty much 6 litres. you have to pump the fluid in thru the fill plug hole till it starts to dribble over the lip. have a catch basin, plenty of rags. In order to pump fluid into the fill plug, my mechanic used a hand-pumped pressurized container. As one person fills, the helper changes the gears; R, N, D back and forth ..not too quick...Have the E brake set to avoid the wheels from spinning... be careful...alot of things can go wrong with this DIY.... I guess I won't be doing this for another few years....
  4. autotrader , craigslist seem to have some good ones listed from time to time. Depends how far you are looking; Florida cars, West Coast, Texas seem to have plenty of well cared for Pcars. But there should be plenty in your area ( midwest)..if they are only summer drivers...
  5. J & W Motorsports : 8850 NW 13 Terrace, off 836 West at 87 ave go north to 13 terrace. Great work, alot of knowledge // experience. Will has direct line to L & N for IMS work. I just did my IMS retrofit and RMS upgrade. real happy with work and prices are very reasonable.
  6. $3K is in the ballpark if it includes all the parts and an oil change. Are they figuring 8 -10 hours of labor or more? Taking the trans down is a major pain ( Tips even worse). But once that's accomplished.. the clutch, IMS, RMS are right there...an indy with his own shop may save you a few hundred, but you've got to see his work first....Since Charles recommended this shop, that's a plus. GL, I know I'm alot happier knowing I did the RMS //IMS retrofit before it did me.... B)
  7. hey, yes I just replied to your similar post on rennlist. Like the other members posted there, that is a very poor job. Since it still leaks, then it's classified as a downright rip off. Get your money back and look for a reputable trim shop to make it right. I had a small leak in my 00 Cab and dreaded getting water anywhere near the back window. bottom line, I was very happy with my new top and window from a vendor on ebay. search Porsche tops.. good luck.
