  1. Hi, I am very new to this site and last year I bought a 2002 Boxster 2.7. I fitted HID light kit which has the latest digital ballasts and is supposed to compatible with all Porsche models. The lights are great and give a really clear vew of the road, yet as my supprise when I turned them on and the generator light and oil pressure lights came on, also the spoiler was up and I had not moved from the car park. I have investigated this in depth and the problem is the switch on spike in the power circuit which upsets the computers. I have now routed my power via a relay. The relay is controlled by one of the head lights and the power comes direct from the battery to both ballasts. This appears to cure the problem. Since my cars lights are not CAM monitored I only have to feed the relay from one light and do not need to fit load resistors to either for the monitoring circuit. Hope this helps others...
