  1. I own a Cayenne S (MY 05) with a PCM. I didn't use for a week and when I started it yesterday, the clock was off by several hours !!! Then when I turned the PCM ON, the date displayed was 01/01/2000, the time was wrong and different from the one displayed on the dashboard. After about a minute when I guess the navigation system was able "to lock" some satellites everything went back to normal !!!! No big deal but weird!!! Any thoughts? EricAlain
  2. Actuallt firmware was up to date, but the software was like making a "loop", so the overall PCM was overheating and then after 45 minutes would shut itself down. My dealer changed the entire PCM unit.
  3. Actually I have just experienced the same problem with a 05 Cayenne S .... I have also had the PCM switching on and off without any reason while driving ... so 30 minutes ....
  4. Mine would consume a quart (ie 1 liter) every 2,500-3,500km (ie 1,500-2,000 miles) on the street. If I'm doing "hard spirited driving" then it would go up to a quart every 500 miles ....
  5. There will definitely be a 997 TARGA. The car is based on the C4 chassis and there will be a Targa 4 and a Targa 4S. The car will be introduced just after the Paris Motor Show (early October) on the European market and I suspect 2-3 month later in the US. Actually the car is already in production and if you happen to be in Zuffenhausen you may be able to see some around the factory. Some pics are available at www.rennteam.com in the 997 Thread. The car shown is a yellow targa with US specs (bumperette ....)
  6. Hi There, While in a traffic jam, I was playing with the On Board Computer (OBC) of my 996 (MY 03) and suddenly, the language on the main instrument cluster switched from French (back) to German. I must have pressed the wrong button and I don't know how to reverse it. The language on the PCM II screen is still in French My car is a 996 Targa (Jan 2003) the car was originally a German one and is now "French" Any help on how I can change the language would be highly appreciated. Thanks EA
  7. Thank you very much, it's really helpful. I live in Paris, but my car is coming from Germany. So I suspect that 226 stands for Germany. As far as the 490 is concerned, I checked in a brochure published in July 03 that says it's Digital. My car was delivered in Jan 03 so I think manufactured late 02 therefore the 490 would be Analog. so MY 03 is analog while MY 04 is digital. Am I right?
