  1. I finally removed it a few days ago, been a bit busy. It's only a base model boxster and the differential center shafts do not have center bolts, simply had to pull them out as their held In with spring clips, thanks though guys. Also for a bit of comic relief ( or to cringe over ) ill post the photos of what I found once the diff was removed, finally found the knock.
  2. Ok that makes sense, since the gearbox their working on in wayne's book is from the S model. Im guessing the only way im going to be able to get to the diff in order to do that is to remove the gear shafts and get to it from the top, because your not able to remove the side diff cover until the half shafts are removed.
  3. Hey everyone, I'm in the process of removing my differential from my gearbox, but I'm stuck at the first step, I can't for the life of me work out how to remove the center shafts that attach the cv joints to the diff. I can't find the center bolt which the book says to remove first. Can someone please shed some light on this for me? Thankyou in advance.
  4. Hey everyone. Im having a major issue with my boxster at the moment ( 1999 2.5L model ) When driving along im getting a Thud..Thud......Thud..Thud... noise from the rear of the car, which is also shuddering through the car when it knocks, which gets pretty excessive either at speed or under load. This noise speeds up with the engines rpm and is only present with the clutch Engaged, i can feel it shudder through my clutch pedal as im engaging the clutch in first gear also. it feels like theres something majorly out of balance with the clutch/flywheel assembly or the gearbox itself. Does anyone have any guidence or knowledge of an issue like this? regards. Nathan
  5. In your center console storage remove the plate in the bottom and that gies you access to the habdbrake adjustment screws. It's just one tie bolt and a lock nut. Realy simple to do
  6. which ebay store did you get those pedals from?
  7. So problem was remedied. Guy pulled the box out and stripped it. No damage or broken parts so he cleaned it, re-assembled and put it back in the car. Now it works perfectly. Apparently it was just realy filthy inside and caused something to jam up. Thankfully was pretty cheap to get fixed since nothing was broken.
  8. Still have this problem. Nothing wrong with the linkages. Something internal, any ideas from anyone?
  9. Ok. i just talked to a porsche dealer and he said it sounds like an issue with the Reverse Gear Lock out Locking out 5th gear. This been an issue with anyone?
  10. Hey guys, Im having an issue with my 99 boxster's 5th gear at the moment, it was working fine up until yesterday. now it wont shift into 5th, at all. i reversed out of my drive way and drove off and ever since then it just hasnt wanted to shift. theres no warning lights and all the other gears are working fine but it feels like im hitting a wall in the gearbox when it comes to changing into 5th, has anyone else had this issue or no what the problem could be? cheers. Nathan
  11. Hey Everyone, I recently purchased a 99 Boxster and i am having an issue with the car locking. With both the Door lock and the Remote i'll lock the car and it will. Lock, then unlock straight away and i get the 2 horn bleeps telling me theres an issue. Has anyone had this problem before or knows of a reason for it doing this? Cheers, Nathan
