  1. Hi All - I have a squeak on my 1999 996 911 tip cab. After about 20 mins of driving, an old bed srping type squeak starts from the front (driver side - RHS in the UK). It has been suggested that this is a coffin arm problem and I need to replace it. The noise vanishes at speeds of over 30 mph. Having done lots of reaseach (on the net!) it seems like the noise can be a result of many things and I do not want to go back and keep changing things. I wanted to start with the most obvious to isolate the problem - lubricate different bits to see what the cause of the squeak is. I know this may not solve anything but it is a financially prudent way to start! So...does anyone know (or have any pictures) of the areas I should start to grease? I plan on using a syringe to point and squirt. Thanks in advance!
  2. Hi all - I would like to know how best to maintain the window seals on a cab. There is a combination of rubber and felt and to make the window closures waterproof and squeekless, can I use vaseline (petrolleum jelly) coating on the rubber? what would I use on the felt? (I am not even sure if it is felt or worn down rubber) Help most appreciated - thanks!
