  1. is it flashing? if so your coolant level needs to be topped off
  2. Read with interest the previous messages as my A/C stopped working. Just before it stopped i had and intermitent warm then cold output from the vents. Checked the pressure and it is on the line from the green to red zone (fill guage has zones that goe from yellow to green then to red in this order). Does this mean i am low on refrigerant, or that it is where it should be? If so, then what else could it be? compressor is working, pulleys are ok, etc. Any info would be much appreciated as we are having record days of heat here in Seattle and having the top down doesn't do it!!! Thanks! :renntech:
  3. I just purchased a full set of Bilstein PSS9's and full K&N airbox from Vivid. Went with the PSS9's as i didin't need the electronic feature and one click difference on the 10's. Besides the price was good for a what you guys call a solid update to my car... I do have a question as to installation. Is there a post that anyone knows of that has comprehensive install directions for a 2000 Carrera 4? I've seen a ton for the C2. Also, do I need the spring compressor for the removal of the old springs/struts? If so, what spring compressor would you recommend? I've tried to do a search, but the search feature does not like the less than 2 letter (C4) search. Great info...and thanks in advance for any info you all can provide! Dennis
  4. As always..Renntech shines! You guys are such a wealth of information, can always trust that no matter how small or complicated the question you will have the answers! Thanks!
  5. The cabin temp sensor may be at fault. Thanks KM....would you happen to know off hand where this sensor is located? Dennis
  6. Have a 2k C4 Cab that recently has been acting up. When you set the climate contol to auto and set the temp at..say70 F it seems to heat the cabin well past this temp. I have never had a problem with this in the past and have thought it was one of the best climate control units out there. Any suggestions? Thanks
  7. I have a freind who is an auto shipper - he specializes in rare/exotic race car transport. (H1's, porsche, viper, gt, race cars, etc). His e-mail address is ericward@email.com If he's in your area or going to your area, I'm sure he'll give you a hand. I had a top shipped from Chicago to Seattle two years ago. I dont want to scare you, but the cost was nearly $1200! This included someone building a crate to ship it ground. Sorry, cant remember the shipper, but it was a major line...like roadway.
  8. Help! I was on a road trip to a remote part of Wa State and lost my polyrib belt :( Looked at it and found that a roller lost a bearing and threw the belt. The roller is shown on the maintenace section of "how to replace your polyrib belt" and it is where you start the reinstallation of the replacement belt. It is referenced by the number "1" on the diagram. What is this part? is it the water pump? I had the car flatbedded to the next major town (Wenatchee, Washington) to a German car specialist, as there were no P car dealers. I am a little concerned as they say they do work on these cars occasionally, but mostly for maintenance. The closest major town is 2.5 hours away.... Has anyone else lost this bearing and how long did it take and at what cost was it replaced. Any advise would be helpful!!
  9. When I purchased my C4 Cab 2 glorious summers ago, I had the hardtop shipped from Chicago to Seattle, company packed it up and shipped it for $1400. I would look at buying one locally! Dennis
