  1. Hi

Does the short shift or the gt3 (the same) work as well?

I tried one from a 997 turbo and i loved it.... and want to install it on my 2004 TT

The GT3 is not a short shifter. It has alloy parts for durability rather than the plastic parts found in the 996/997 shifters. The 997 shifter reduces throw about 15% and cost half as much as the 997 short throw which reduces throw about 25% over the 996 shifter. Not hard DYI. Just takes lot of time to get the center consol out.

  2. So I have a cracked OEM front lip and I ordered the Bayson R oem replacement for $99 plus shipping. The lip they'll be shipping out is black and polyurethane. Any advice on painting this lip seal gray metallic? Should I sand, spray paint (how many coats), and then apply clearcoat? Thanks in advance.

This may sound funky, but since these lips get banged up all the time, why not play it on the inexpensive side and have bumper medic do it. If you're doing the painting that's a different story.

  3. Oddly enough, I see a ton of posts talking about replacing or augmenting the plastic bumper grills on our cars, but I couldn't find any ready-made, high quality mesh grill listings in any of these posts (outside of one UK company that looked nice). Any how after quite a bit of Googling, I found a set that seems to be promising. Since I'm not exactly sure it's ok to post commercial links here, just google "Mina Gallery".

They offer both a chrome and black set of grills for most 911 (996 and 997) variants. I ordered a set of black and waiting on delivery. It appears they fully replace the stock plastic grills and, to me at least, look very good.

I'll report back on the fit and finish once I receive mine and install them.
