Dunno about the US
but in Asia it seems that the 996 is a fast depreciating asset to have even gt2 and 3s are dropping fast in prices with the launch of every new 997
But them 964s and 993s are holding their value very well some are even appreciating
An m/t 964 is now worth about as much as a 996 early model!

Outside temp problem likely to have been caused by front bumper removal. Mine gave up the ghost when my car had a full respray after an accident

Funny that my car has the exact same two problems
my outside oil temp sensor is working intermittently and my oil pressure guage jumps from zero to 5 and back sometimes.
Outside temp sensor don't seem to effect my cars performance nor the a/c in my car
hope this helps : )

Hello
any one know the part number for the mkii gt3 oil pressure sender? Is it the same for lhd and rhd vehicles?
Thanks
Cg
-
Situation persisted last night with the oil pressure guage reading zero suddenly
Most proabably due to bad sender, will get that changed out
anyone know the part number for the oil pressure sender?
Thanks

Had a somewhat similar experience. Caused by a faulty ignition barel in my case the barrel allowed me to turn the key one click beyond the normal position and most ancillary power functions were disabled including headlights and caused intermittent failure to start.
Hope this helps! And best of luck trying to get it sorted!

Heard the factory is running a standard 997 gt3 rs mkii used as a development test car any idea on that car's time compared to the race cars?
Thanks cg
-
Sorry for not thanking you guys on a timely basis for the advise
seems problem has not presisted and car is running fine with good oil pressure and level
local Porsche specialist say likely a faulty sensor rather than other reasons as the car has been standing for a week and the local weather had just turned quite humid
he did concur that the car shall not be driven once the dash light comes on as well
thanks all

Dear all
engine oil failure indicator came on twice while driving home today
I stopped the car and did the measurement with the trip computer which indicated engine oil on the max level
any ideas?
Thanks

I am on a set of re050as which are pretty good in the dry bar the tyre dusts problem
ok in the wet but seem to be at it's absolute poorest when they are cold and the roads are slightly wet
I have heard the yokohamas ad08 are very good too
The yokohamas a048 which I used to run on my evo were excellend as a track tyre but as they have only a small groove they do aquaplane in the wet the newest model from yokoha is the a050 which are the closest thing to race spec tyres. Available in hard medium hard, medium, soft and super soft compounds

Hi clord
last time the car was on a ramp there were no signs of oil leaks, the sound is definately from the rear axle/engine at very low speeds going uphill the car is absolutely fine at speed...
Actually having consulted with some local gt3 owners it seems the rhd vehicles are not prone to rms problems for some reason but most of the local cars are rs models, perhaps we do have a milder climate out here.
The sound is a clucking noise and other than that the car runs fine
thanks

Dear all,
any idea whether the rms and ims problem is less prone to occur on mk ii gt3 engines?
I have noticed a low speed knocking sound especially going up and down steeper hills at low speed and am wondering whether I should be concerned.
My car had just been serviced with all engine and g'box mounts replaced
Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi
Can I ask how much this is and where I can get one shipped to an international destination? Also will the supplied software work with a mk2 gt3?
Thanks

i have a 19 inch wheels on my 99 C4. I need new ones and also looking to purchase some cost friendly and good quality rears so this thread is in good timing. I currently ride the Victor Lemans 19 inch rims. No issues with fender scraping or such..but mine is not lowered.
I need a tire guide..or go to tire school or something.
Street only 19 inch, summer/fall driving only - whats the best bang for the buck?
Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 301.00
Bridgestone Potenza RE050A 299.00
Pirelli PZero Nero 285.00
Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetric 299.00
Continental ExtremeContact DW 248.00
Continental ContiSportContact 3 334.00
Yokohoma ADVAN Neova AD08 288.00
I'd personally like to stay below 300 bucks per tire so the Continental ExtremeContacts for 248 seem reasonable. Advice would be much appreciated. Oh, and these are all 275/30ZR/19 tires from TireRack
I am suprise to see the close prices of re050 and re11s in the states I am running bs re050as on my gt3 which are relatively grippy but takes a little time to get to temp and is not very good in slightly wet conditions they also tend to produce a fair amour of tyre dust so not ideal if you have a light coloured car.
I have used ad08s from y'hama on my evo before and they worked wonders there, but I'd go for a set if Y'hama A048 or A050s if they are available in the US. You will not e disappointed with these Japanese racing compound tyres!!

My gt3 has been in the family for some time but it's only after an recent accident and full repair job thy I have started to use it and take more notice to it. Anyways the car is sometimes parked under a tree outside so I'll probably insert some plastic mesh like the front grill stuff there using some epoxy adhesive
thanks all for the reassurance!!

I just did an rear update that resembles the 997 gt3 rear assembly for the 996 do email me if you want some pics my email is orangetabbycat@ymail.com

Ok I might just be thinking too much then! Should I place a grill there to stop things alling inside the two holes?

Hi chord I haven't notice any adverse performance in the ac unit in regulating temperature even when the sensor display shows nothing ...seems the sensor wads damaged during the respray and needs to be replaced as the wires are all plugged in well : (

Hi all
I noticed that on my decklid wing of my mkii gt3 is musing the mesh grill as I had a full respray last month. The paint shop may have lost the piece any one know the replacement part number or can I just tach on some mesh to stop leaves falling into the intake
Thanks

Hi all
I am wondering if there are any ways to remove the cdr23 unit without the removal tools and whether a new headunit from Sony or alpine can just plug straight in ??
Thanks
