Server Lease Renewal/Software Licenses - Goal Reached!

A big Thank You to all those that donated to help us reach our 2019 goal (and pay the site operating costs)!

Just an FYI - if all members of this site had donated - then the cost per member would have been less than $0.06 each.

Thanks again to all of you that did contribute!

  1. I knocked the front trim ring (lower part of the front bumper) partially away from the black cowling piece that sits inside the bumper on my 2007 Boxster S. It is very difficult (essentially impossible) to get enough purchase on the cowling piece so that you get the tabs on the two pieces to connect together. Talked to the Porsche dealer (~100 miles away) and they indicate that you need to remove the bumper. I followed Loren's excellent video as a starting point to remove the bumper and offer the following comments which differ slightly from Loren's video for his 911. 1. The cover in the front trunk is Velcro'ed onto trunk - not secured by the quarter turn screws. There are three #27 Torx screws to remove once you get the cover off. 2. I removed a total of 9 screws from bottom part of the bumper (two of which are somewhat hidden in some plastic trim. 3. As suggested in the bumper removal thread, I found it useful to removal the wheel well trim pieces in order to gain access to the screws by the marker lights. At this point, I had hoped I had all the fasteners off the car and that the bumper should pull out as shown in the video. The sides and the bottom seem free but the area by the headlights aren't budging. I would welcome any suggestions, comments, or diagrams that might help me get the bumper off. And by the way, even with the bumper relatively free, I could hold the cowling piece in place (from inside the bumper) while my son pushed on the molding piece in order to get the tabs to lock together, no luck. Thanks and Happy New Year, Karl
