  1. I am having the clutch replaced on my 1999 Carrera 2 and the shop doing the work has recommended replacing the dual mass flywheel with a single mass flywheel. Can anyone explain the advantages and disadvantages of this option?
  2. That is a reasonable suggestion - any idea who can do the job in Atlanta?
  3. I have a 1999 996 C2 6 speed with LSD and 74,000 miles. The car is near perfect and has had no problems until it began to jump out of 2nd gear when cold. This has gotten worse in the last few months and I think it is time to replace the transmission. So, where do I get a replacement? What other things should be done to the car while the transmission is out? What shop in the Atlanta area is qualified to do this work? Thanks to the forum.
  4. I would like to replace my 1999 C2 twisty wheels with a set of 997 5 spoke wheels. I am concerned about the front offset. The 996 fronts have an offset of 50 while the 997 is 57. Unless there is such a thing as a negative spacer, this will increase the front track by a total of 14 mm. Is this a cause of concern? Are there other 5 spoke wheels with less offset?
  5. I have a 99 C2 with the M030 Sport Group and 014 Sport package options. Can someone tell me the difference between my M030 and the RoW M030 package? I would like to improve the car's handling on the track without ruining it for the street and am looking for options.
