Help. A small split has appeared in my my front bumper. It is where it meets the wheel arch and just behind the side indicator. The wheel arch lining has forced it out and hence the split. A friend on another forum reckoned the root cause of the split is that the wheelarch inner plastic liner has not been fitted or refitted properly in the past. They may have removed the bumper to clear the radiators prior to sale, or to respary the bumper for stone chips. Either way, someone at some stage has removed the wheelarch liner and not refitted it correctly. They could of removed it to clean the rads in the recent service too. However, having just visited OPC Reading and had one of their bodywork specialists look at it the sales guy reckons it may have been caused by vibration and is general wear and tear and six months after purchasing the car it is now my responsibility. My comment is that if it was vibration and wear and tear why aren't there loads of Boxsters and 996's with the same issue. THe car will be booked in for them to remove the bumper and look at it however I am louthed to pay for a repair. And comments?
