  1. <snip> How can i adjust the speaker output level on the PCM the hum is there whichever volume is at oin the audio volume or IHF1000

    <snip>

Are you trying to connect the Blue/Orange lines from the IHF1000 to the telephone audio input, or the lines from the speaker connection?

Also, are you going into pins 7and12 on the upper connector block with the audio?

i used the supplied speaker cable balck cut it off the speaker and yes 7 and 12 on the pcm should i be using the blue and orange cables to connect to the single RCA jack on the PCM? its only one jack what color do i connect orange or blue.

maybe thats why i am gettin the hum i dont have the orange and blue cables connected to the PCM?

  2. hey guys,

I just bought a v1 wanted to know where to mount the V1. and concealed display. current position of V1 is top of windshield above mirror, I have seen a cayenne with the arrows above the pcm in the blank plate next to hazzard switch. and the button for power and volume in the console in front of gear selector. any ideas and/or pics will be awsome.

    thanks marco

P.S. I have a escort 8500 Blue X50 for sale used 3 months included with hardwire kit.

  3. I misunderstood which vehicle you had. The location I described was for a mounting of the speaker in a 996/997 or Boxster/Cayman.

For the Cayenne, I remove the lower dash trim panel under the steering wheel, then remove the knee deflector plate. I mount the speaker to the back of that plate, pointed up towards the driver. It's located to the left of the steering column, then.

As for your audio humm and bringing the audio through the headunit, make sure to use the speaker-level output from the IHF1000 into the headunit. Also make sure that you adjust the IHF1000 volume level to provide loud, but not distorted, audio out of the car speakers. Hit the Talk/center button and keep repeating the "Help" command - adjust the volume while listening to the menu of commands. You may also need to tweak the level again while in a call. This will optimize the S-to-N ration of the handsfree signal into the PCM headunit.

  4. Try our site if you prefer the exterior antenna installs. Our painting process WILL NOT affect signal strength for XM and Sirius antennas. Get them painted to match your Porsche.

    Thanks

That seems like a hard sell for the Cayenne, which has a spoiler designed for hiding all the antennas.

i have a sirius antenna how do i install it to the spoiler i have no idea how to remove it...or gain access to that area

    thanks

  5. OK. So you said you were able to get the handsfree system audio to play through the radio, but there was a bad hum. Did you try connecting the speaker connection to the radio's telephone audio input, or the orange and blue wires on the kit (this is an IHF1000, right)?

Also, is the hum present even if you don't have the handsfree audio connected (i.e. Mute hook-up only)?

I would mount the speaker in the center console, behind/under the radio near the floor. Remove the D/S center console kick panel, and you should see a spot there. Hides everything nice and should still be loud enough.

P.S. I do installs of these in the Chicago/Milwaukee area

yes i have the IHF 1000 the humm is with the mute casble connected and the red and black single rca cable attached only humm present when on phone with source being pumped through the speakers on pass side. Where in the center console can i mount the speaker it seems kinda hard to locate a spot i hasve PCM also i have taken that entire console out and still dont see a location can you be more specific or i would much rather have it go through the stock speakers in the Cayenne anyway to acomplish this?

    Thanks Marco

  6. Porsche's phone kit sends audio only to the passenger side speaker, you cannot hit the amp of the Bose with an analogue signal to my knowledge, there is a work around to hit the rightside speaker but I dont know how. Most people use the supplied speaker.

Ok so i have the Mute working now i jsut need to get the audio routed to the front speakers

i have the becker RCA cable to 1 Black and 1 Red wire that needs to be installed to the back of the PCM II

ANy ideas what slots they go in?

Okay so i have ewverything connected and working the only issue is there is a HUGEEEE i cant stress that enough HUGE humm on the speakers from the connection it is unbareble anyone else have this problem?

ok i have no problem using the supplied 5 watta speaker but where did they mount it i can find a spot that i would be able to hear it well...passenger footwell under the padding and cover (bad audio wqality) mumbled

    any ideas?

  8. This might help

"just finished the install. It's a piece of cake! I got all the power (switched and unswitched), the ground, and radio mute from the phone connector that was hiding behind the cubby bin (all US & Can cars have it apparently). The Becker cable plugs right into the back of the radio and connects to the audio out of the phone kit via a phono jack. I just snipped the wire from the supplied speaker, soldered a male phono plug (Radio shack) and it all works like a charm! Radio mutes when a call is made or recieved and can be heard through the right side speaker and the radio displays "phone". I'm not sure where I want the mic, but for now it's attached with double sided tape to the steering column... Level of difficulty out of 10: 2-3

Time: 30-60mins (most of it on tidying up the miles of wires that come with the kit)

Becker told me that the part number 1319.116-276 will NOT work with a PCM II but all the forums i read say it will can anyoen help me out?

But this might help you more

like slot ABC and what number? i have 1 gray and red wire (Speaker) i believe and the RCA cable with red and black. no idea where it goes ? so if you have the port numbers like C1 and C3 for RCA anything like that cause it is not labeled phone here

    haha

so idk porsche isnt like a chevy..

    :help:

Ok i think i ahve it now the mute cable which is the Red and gray one goes to slot A3. then the red cable with the RCA on it goes toC3 pin 12 but idk not specified?

still dotn know where the red and black rca cables go to

  12. Some module messed up. It needs to be reprogrammed. I will tell you what exactly it is when the Porsche dealership faxes me the paper work for the recent repair.

    yea figured that

contacted my dealer in 2 weeks i have an appointment wit hthem to reprogram the cluster for that error (unless you have a fix without a PWIS tester) but they are also going to try to sync up my miles from the old cluster so my mileage is up to date.

    please let me know

    thanks for the response

    Marco

Dealer wasnt able to change the mileage or change the module issue :(

  14. The Owner's Manual describes how to change the front and rear turn signal lamps, pages 318 to 328.

Its rather easy i did it to my cayenne with the new PIAA XTREME WHITE BULBS.

remove all front hex screws on the inside wheel well reach in and turn counter-clockwise and the bulb socket will come right out. Thats it

What PIAA XTREME'S did you use for the fogs- H11's?

    yes h-11's fogs

  15. Hey guys
