  1. When cold & sometimes at a standstill (idling) my 2002 996 TT makes a strange belt type noise from the engine bay. The main drive belt was changed recently and i found no play in any of the pulleys. The car was in to the OPC for a Tiptronic service and after that there was no noise - it has now started coming back more regularly (this may just be coincidence) Strangely if I turn off the automatic air con the noise goes away? Could it be the tensioner giving up or does anyone have any other bright ideas.
  2. Parking sensors & reversing lights are both perfect! I was wondering if the memory for the mirror reversing was being lost every time the car is locked but even that is not true - there is no common thread as to when it does or does not decide to work except if the ignition is left on for ages (when it is being valeted etc) Immediately after a situation like that it works!!
  3. Hello, My 2002 996 TT Tip has the reversing parking aid passenger mirror which is a great help in Edinburgh with the HUGE kerbs in the City. Unfortunately it has a mind of its own, sometimes it works for days on end then all of a sudden stops working. There are no fault codes whatsoever - I have read the manual over & over to make sure I am setting the memory seat / mirror perfectly. When I do reset the seats the mirror works fine, as soon as the car is left off for a period it doesnt dip on restart & reverse. PLEASE can someone shed some light.
