  1. Is it easy to take of the original twin pipes on my 997 carrera s and replace them with the chrome ones I have just bought from gert carnewal.......what tools do I need Thanks for any help
  2. :) I have successfully managed to change over the factory silver slats and silver control wheel from my side air vents into a carbon set and they look great. After a lot of trial and error using the black slats that came with the CF pair I have a few tips for those of you who may be looking to do the same. 1) The control wheel is easy to swap over.....remove the guide bar that connects the wheel to the lever and simply place it in the new vent , then reconnect the guide bar.......takes a few minutes only. 2) As you look at the vent there is a vertical bar that connects all the slats together - DO NOT UNCLIP THIS FROM ANY OF THE SLATS- get a pair of needle nose pliers and very slightly bend up the slats from one side of the vent and pull out gently until they are all out. Now you have all the slats out and still connected and hanging from the guide bar...............Now simply place them in the correct place in the new vent and use the pliers to bend them slightly up again and pop the back into the new vent. there is hardly any marks on any of the slats from using the pliers - the factory paint seems to be extremely tough. the whole process took about 1 hour and I was being extremely careful so if you are already familiar with removing the vents from the car it shouldn't take too long and the result is fantastic......I was amazed at how tightly everything fitted into the new vent and then back into into the car. There are no gaps in the trim surrounding them and they look "factory fitted".
  3. Hi all, I am looking to get a pair of European size license plate frames with the PORSCHE logo on but cannot find them anywhere - anyone know if they are available anywhere? There is a company called EU TAGS (WWW.EUTAGS.CO.UK) that used to sell them but they didn't have the license to use the PORSCHE logo so had to send them to the factory to be be destroyed.
  4. I have a 2004 C4S coupe and need help on how to change the aluminium slats and control wheel in the plain black side air vents and put them into a set of carbon ones I have just bought from CARNEWAL. Thanks to the forum I have learnt how to take the vents out of the car but don't want to proceed any further in case I break something!! Has anyone done this before and are there any issues regards lose fitting and therefore rattling noises if I do it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
