  1. I have a 1999, 996 Cab Tip and find that under heavy acceleration the power delivery is not smooth. Best way to describe it is almost missing but not quite. It does accelerate pretty quick but seems to hold back and be a little "fluffy". Seems to be the same in either auto or tiptronic mode. It is due for service in November and I can live with it till then as long as the problem isn't causing any other issues. Starts and runs fine, hot or cold, under normal driving. Just when I give it some beans.
  2. Skymast, My 99 C2 Cab does exactly the same and the difference between cold starts and warmed up starts is considerable. You'd think it would be the other way round. Who made the original batteries so i can check if mine is original?
  3. I've had a '99 C2S Cab Tip for just on a month now and really love the car. Having come from an SL500 the Porsche is so much more a "drivers" car but has the every day useability that I need. However, on 2 occasions it has been difficult to start. Engine turns over and eventually catches and spits and splutters a bit before it settles and is then fine. Normally it fires first time whether hot or cold. On both these times the car has been sat in very hot sun (rare in the UK I know)for about 2 hours and I'm wondering if some of the the fuel in the system has evaporated and it takes a few turns to get things back to normal. The fact the car is dark blue might give this theory some credibility. What do you guys think and has anyone else had this problem and solved it. Thanks Denis.
