  1. Getting ready to change out my front and rear brake pads (rotors are good) and I have a question. Do you have to replace the front & rear brake pad dampeners or do you re-use the ones on there?
  2. 1. The PSE valve is there to pas EU noise regulations that came into effect. It muffles the exhaust during slower speeds becasue that would be the speed you drive through a populated area at. Coincidence? ;) 2. There is ABSOLUTELY no GAIN or LOSS of power from a FisterD mufler mod. All it does is sound "better" that is ALL it does.
  3. Need help sourcing a headlight part for 2004 w/Bi-Xenons. Hard to explain but here goes and I will try and post a picture up later. Basically I have one of my headlights flickering and seems to be that the problem is the plastic "guide bar" that you use to guide the headlights back into thier channel has developed a crack. This crack is causing the light assembly to flex just enough to cause the connector to lose contact and therefor the intermediate flicker when I hit a bump or flex the light assembly manually. So, I pulled the headlight and tried to repair with epoxy which worked for a while but looks like gotten worse. The part does look to be user serviceable as there are a few screws that attatch it to the headlight assembly and it does not appear to be molded as part of the headlight assembly and therefore should be easy to repair. However, the problem is I cannot find the part number so I can order new ones and of course local dealer is of NO HELP and cannot seem to find a part description online. I found obscure reference to this part G99663111600 on AutoAtlanta but I cannot really tell if correct and does not indicate left or right can anyone confirm or help?
  4. Add me to this list. 40k miles and windshield if full of littel pits which is really annoying in late afternoon or early morning when ethe sun is low and lights them all up :(
  5. Was out last night and I heard a crack when I started car and depressed the cluch and now clutch pedal has gone "soft"? Also, I had a prior post where it has been creaking / squeking for last few weeks and now the squeak / creak is pretty much gone but the pedal just "feels" different. Clutch engages, card drives fine, no leaks, no warning lights just feels different than before the clack. Actually, I am not sure if I like it better this way. Best way to descibe is it feels like there is a longer softer engagement spot than there was before? Might this be damaged or broken clutch power spring?
  6. Buddy has a 2001 Porsche 996 w/3.4L and stock exhaust. He recently purchased a pair of factory OEM Porsche sport exhaust mufflers from a local guy who was converting his car to a track only car and took them off. We want to install these mufflers but need the additional parts. Can anyone please provide part#'s for what I will need to install them. Right now have the mufflers w/ brackets and the associated solenoid etc... I "believe" I will need wiring harness, vacuum hoses and cabin buttons. Also, anyone have a "how-to" or a link with pictures of a retrofit installation? Finally, if it turns out to be too much trouble to do the wiring and vacuum what happens if we install "just" the mufflers? Are they in the "ON" mode without electronics and vacuum or the "OFF" position? In other words can we just install mufflers and have them be LOUD all the time?
  7. No accident and NOT compleatly loos just not as taught as when new.
  8. Not sure best way to describe but my seat belt specifically the drivers side does not seem to retract when you remove it. Any ideas how to re-tension it? Would that be something Porsche might cover under warranty since it is safety related? My car is 2004 35k miles.
  9. Is there a valet key that should come or is available with a Porsche 911? On my Mercedes the keys separate so you can lock the glove and or center console when you valet or have car serviced. My 2004 40th AE came with two keys and remotes but that was all. I have seen some cars have three keys am I missing one?
  10. California, gotta love it pay more for using the SAME road with a car with 2 seats vs SAME car with 4 seats, LOL. The way I see it if the car has two seats and both a occupied that sure sounds like HOV :) When are you guys going to say enough is enough with the BS taxes?
  11. I am in the same boat but my car is a 2004 40th AE. I want to go 235/40/18 up gront and 295/30/18 in rear using stoc rims. Will that fit with NO rubbing issues? Tires will be Hankook v12's. If the GT3 has 295/30 versus my 285/30 on the rear, the calculators show a 1.7% difference front/rear versus the 2.7% I will be running if I stay with these new tires. I'm hoping the 2.7% will be ok.
