  1. I should also note the car is a 2002, with 28K on the odometer (total garage queen). My tech told me it was time to change out the rubber, which may not eliminate the problem, but certainly couldn't hurt as the PZero Rosso were getting bald. After changing the tires, the problem went away for the first 500 miles. I was driving it last night ,and it came back. Now the chirping starts at 85+. I don't know. What can be checked on the front end?
  2. Hi everyone, I have a 996 tip which had front end repaired damage about 5 years ago. Another car simply changed lanes into my car, and physically rolled over my frotn quarter panel, disabling my car. I had almost everything under the passenger front quarter panel replaced. They changed the wheel, suspension, radiator and steering rack. Visually, the front frame was ok, but I'm sure the mechanical guys had to check it. For sometime I've noticed a squealing sound coming from my car but it has been hard to diagnose. The sound is like a dry rotational bearing. The sound is faintly noticeable when the windows are rolled up. I can hear it clearly when i roll the driver window down and drive against the median or near a sound barrier. Sound appears from the front driver side. Sound appears above 60 mph, and reduces in oscillation till it cuts out when you slow to 35mph. My question is what rotating mass could be causing this problem. My tech does not think it is the wheel bearing. I've had both fender liners replaced as there was some cracking. What are some of your thoughts? Also, should the wheel bearing be changed as a precaution?
  3. I was quoted the part number 996 111 228 02 as the GT3 stock exhaust from an 05 996 GT3. If it is correct, that the same part as the one used on an 02-05 normally aspirated 996 3.6? If not, what would be that part number? Thanks in advance Jason
  4. I had found this feature back in 01/02, but I didn't bother to write it down. If anyone knows how to access the service menu, the function to disable/enable this feature is there.
  5. Hi, Many moons ago I found a tip on how to enable the RDS function via the service menu. I thought it was neat, but now it's a lightly used gimmic in my area. I should have documented it, but now I simply forgot how to disable it. The forum search didn't produce any results. Can anyone help?
  6. Hello, I need to replace my brake ducts along with much of my right side body work from a hit and run accident. Since I have an 02 9996 C2, I wonder if it would be possible to upgrade to a larger brake duct that I've been reading about on 6speedonline. Anyhow. I was hoping to find out the part numbers to give to the mechanic or buy directly and have my mechanic use the money from my insurance to install the flared rockers. Anyhow I am looking for two part numbers Front GT3/GT3 Cup Brake ducts Flarted Rocker Panels from the Aerokit II. Thank you in advance.
  7. Loren, Thanks for the part number. This is great in case any of the dealers still carry old stock, which is what I'm afraid of. The "C" on my last badge wasn't adhereing properly to the deck lid. For my reference what's the location dimension on an 02?
  8. Loren, Great site by the way. I recently tore part of my Carrera badge when washing the car. I know the dealership will carry these in stock. Just wondering if the 2002 badge is a different part number from the ones use from 99-2001. MY02 and forward sit on a different part of the lid.
