  1. yes, but Perry, according to your profile, your boxster is a 1997. It would be a dream to hook up a new stereo to that car. The newer cars have the dreaded MOST Bus that doesn't allow a very easy connections. Most of the posts I've seen regarding putting in a new stereo in a car with MOST requires changing the amp, and the speakers also. I've even read that when you remove the stereo, the car's computer has a problem with this and the car MAY not work properly, although going to the dealer and having them tell the car's computer that you have no stereo should fix this.
  2. I called and they said that they could let it go for $1800 and that their cost for the PSE was about $1600. Must be some kind of mixup.
  3. I'm looking for the best deal for PSE for my 2004 C4S. I think that it doesn't matter which model 996 I have, its the same part, right? Brandywine offers it for $1400 delivered. Sunset offers for $1850 delivered, but they're supposed to be at cost?!? (+small percentage) I once found in the archives that someone got it for $1200. Is someone duping me by trying to sell without the electronics or something. Thanks for any help here. navin
  4. Its an EZ top hoist and it seems great, but a little expensive. $460. Here is the file link, I couldn't get the attachment to work: http://tinypic.com/9pone9.jpg
  5. Any success with a connector for an MP3 player? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, I'm waiting for a BlueTooth reciever for the PCar, lose the wires, and connect my cell or PocketPC to it instead. It will be cleaner (without wires). As for the $16 Becker harness, it looks very simple: 1- Yank stereo 2- Unplug Blue harness (keeping the line from the required cd changer) 3- Add new Blue harness 4- Fish cable around to where you can reach it. If you've figured out how to get the radio out with the Becker tool, the operation appears to take less than 10 minutes and you're good to go. PM Toolpants just in case I'm wrong. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Does this work for a MOST stereo? I thought there wasn't an easy way to get auxiliary input for these MOST stereos.
  6. I'm not sure how easy that will be. I believe that car has the dreaded "MOST" system which only takes a specific type of input. If the factory offers the option, I bet you could buy the equipment and add it. I looked on the porsche.com website and didn't see an option for satellite radio, although I thought that I'd seen it there in the past.
  7. I have a very small garage and use most of it for things. I don't have a good spot on the wall for the wall rack, either. I found a lift to suspend the hardtop from the ceiling in my garage. It seems simple enough and it's a perfect spot to get the hardtop out of the way. Does anybody have any experience with this?
  8. I definitely fit in a 997 seat/car better. The steering wheel has much more movement telescopically and does tilt in a 997. The problem is: I like the 996 much better. I'm looking at a 2004 C4S Cab. Is there a way to lower the seat in a 996? Could I just buy 997 seats out of a wrecked one someday and would they fit? I appreciate any help?
