  1. Thanks! I found instructions on removing the Carbon Canister. It helps when you know the name for something :)
  2. What is this highlighted box in the front luggage compartment of my 2005 997? I need to remove the liner/carpet as some brake fluid leaked in a recent brake bleed. It's needs a good cleaning. As far as I can tell, I need to remove this box. I removed the 2 top screws on the bracket but it does not pull out. The bracket needs to be pushed down somehow or the box detached. I thought I would see if anyone know what this is so I can better research how to get it off. Thanks, AlAiN
  3. Front End Control properly reprogrammed and Fog lights are working again!
  4. Thanks. I see light switch. Would that mean everything controlled by the lights switch? Thanks again, ALAIN
  5. Can anyone tell me everything that is controlled by the Front End Unit. I have recently had mine replaced an would like to know (for future reference) what kind of failures I can expect if any. Thanks, AlAiN
  6. I recently had the Front End Control unit replaced and noticed that my fog lights no longer work. I can't say for sure if it was like that before of after. I looked for a fuse but nothing is clearly marked for the front fog lights. DRLs are working fine. Anyone with a suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thanks, AlAiN
  7. Updating my post with service information: "Client States a buzzing sound from the front pass side by the hood latch" CAUSE: Front end control unit shorting front hood switch 1 997-624-119-00 Setting Element 1 997-610-105-11 Control Unit Front Replaced front end control unit, replaced front hood safety switch.
  8. Thanks voltairesb have been waiting to get the work order so that I can list the part number but yes it was an actuator but the secondary one for the emergy lid release (See diagram). It was stuck! This was replaced as well as the Front Controler. Now I got to figure out my hi-beam situation. Next post ;) Thank you all who responded and I hope this post comes in handy for someone else.
  9. Not resolved yet. PFAFF also thinks it is the Front End Control Unit and I am to bring it in. Yes, I do get the "Visit Workshop" message. I suspected static as I was using a microfibre clothe to wipe some dust off. When I got to the font bumper the buzzing started. What else could it have been !? Strange though. Anyway, I really appreciate your response. Thanks! I'll post back what PFAFF finds out.
  10. Yes, I found the actuator by pulling out the siding carpet. And, yes, I do have Home Link.
  11. Tried to disconnect but found it very hard and did not want to break it.
  12. Ok. It is neither of them. The actuator is working fine. The noise is still coming from the general area. The following photos has the area in question. Now looking more closely from the luguage compartment I see wires leading into that general area. What to? And what cold be causing this noise? The Horn? Thanka again for any insight. AlAiN
  13. Is it the front lid microswitch or actuator making this loud noise? I have attached an audio sample of the buzzing that appears to come from the front lid latch area. After many scenarios, I came up with 2 ways to easily reproduce: Open the lid with the key remote then pull the manual lid release... buzzing Simply turn on the ignition... buzzing To get it to stop I have to disconnect the battery. It has stopped on its own a couple times after several minutes but most times it seems to want to go on for ever. Back to my question...Is it the front lid microswitch or actuator making this noise? I am not familiar with these parts to know which one is powered to cause such a noise noise. The funny thing is that I was simply going around the car dusting it off and when I got to the front bumber area it just started! Thanks in advance for any insight. AlAiN VN-20120428-00001.mp3
  14. Thought I would answer my own question ;) I found various information in the Highway Traffic Act and have found: I will try some white LEDs and see what it looks like. AlAiN
  15. Thanks Paul. I will give that a try. Not that this is recurring issue but that is a good maintenance suggestion. Thanks again, AlAiN
  16. I was recently on a trip with my new 2005 C2 when all of a sudden the PCM just rebooted. It caught me off guard when the screen went black but everything seemed OK. When it rebooted, while still driving, the Trip information was all reset but my NAV destination did however continue. Any cause for concerns? My PCM software version reads as v1. Thanks, AlAiN
  17. Great tutorial on switching the side markers to signal lights. My question is not about making them signal lights but about the light color. I have recently acquired my first Porsche (after 20 years of saving) and have already converted all my interior lighting to LEDs. So much nicer and cleaner looking! I have clear side markers and was wondering is anyone knows of any restriction in Canada to have the bulb/LED color as white? Any regulation that states they have to be amber. They are not being converted to signal lights. I am not looking for super bright but think it would give it a cleaner look with the BI-Xenon and the LED parking lights (I installed). The parking lights as white LEDs are a close match to the BI-Xenon and gives it a supper clean look vs incandescent color (yellowish) and white. They now match! If I can’t change them to White I will replace with DIY amber LEDs. Thanks and this forum is awesome!
