  1. Hi Everybody, In addition to doing some cosmetic improvements on my car, I am going to replace the interior bulbs with LED bulbs. I saw the Suncoast kit for $129 + tax + s/h which seems kind of steep for LED bulbs. Has anybody done this upgrade? If so, where did you buy your bulbs? Thanks in advance........ Anthony
  2. I have a 60lb springer spaniel and he normally rides in my wife's car. Unfortunately she is going out of town and I have to take him in my car to the dog park (twice a day). I have a tan interior. What is the best car seat protector to reduce the risk of him scratch the leather? Is there a supplemental protector that exists for things like the interior car door or center console (which really scratches easily)? Thanks in advance...
  3. I received the generic email from Porsche saying that I needed to schedule my next service appt. When I called the dealer, they told me that I should have the low mileage servicing which ran about $500. Change oil, oil filter, computer readout, change air filter (not 100% sure), and a few other things.... Otherwise I could simply do an oil change for $250. I am going to be buying a 3rd Party aftermarket warranty which requires that I do all of the dealer scheduled maintenance.... What do you suggest I have done? In 1 1/2 years, I put on 5k in miles. Thanks in advance....
  4. I once bought an extended auto warranty from infiniti for my wife's car and it was 1/3 less out-of-state. That was a manufacturer warranty so it may not be as regulated as a 3rd party warranty in Florida.
  5. I have decided to buy a Mercury Insurance Extended Warranty after talking with several reputable dealers and independent service companies. Since the extended warranty is identical coverage no matter where I buy it, I was wondering what state typically offers the cheapest policies or more specifically which company (contact name and phone # would be ideal). I don't want this thread to get hijacked on whether my decision to buy or not to buy a 3rd party warranty. That decision is made. I am now looking at the least expensive place to buy this particular Mercury Insurance coverage. If you have a person and company name for me to contact, you can email me at tampaone@gmail.com I am located in Florida but think it will be much cheaper if I can buy it out of state… Thanks in advance...
  6. After reading several posts I decided to buy a pair of these. I don't think that I mixed them up but am not 100% sure. My understanding was the 422A goes on the driver side. However after installing them I notice that the passenger blade while in the resting position is not only off the window but also too low (touching the material on the bottom of the windshield). Is this just me or is this normal? Thanks in advance. Anthony
  7. I am in the process of upgrading my halogen headlights to Xenon and have to replace the fuses. The little manual (in the fuse box) showing fuse layout doesn't mention the headlights. Does anybody know which are the fuse # for both the right and left headlights? Thanks Anthony
  8. They are 18" wheels that are copies of the SportDesign wheels...
  9. I am looking to buy these wheels on ebay for my 2006 Boxster S. Here is a summary of my driving style: I use the car for 99% city driving and put about 7,000 miles a year on my car and have never done track driving (although might light to try it down the road). I am looking to replace the wheels that came with the car and keep my tires. And most importantly, I am ignorant when it comes to specs/mechanical issues, etc.... I don't want to spend $1,000 on wheels to find out that I made a mistake or they don't fit. Can somebody tell me if I am making a mistake or need more information? Or better yet, they think it will work.... Here are the specs according to the seller: Offset: 50 mm front & 47 mm rear Bolt Pattern: 5 X 130 Size: 18 X 8.0" front & 18 X 10" rear Weight: 24 lb front and 26 lb rear I have included a link of the seller on ebay and my car Link to seller on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...rksid=p3907.m32 Wheels that I am looking to buy from this seller = My car =
  10. Thanks for your response. I knew about the link you shared below but didn't know about PCA. I went to PCA's website and unfortunately the valuation is only for older cars, unless I missed something. Read what they say below: Which Porsches are included? Within these ground rules, just what "older" Porsches does the committee cover? The table below has the answer. You'll notice immediately that newer models aren't covered. The new years are covered by the various industry "blue books" and we couldn't argue with these learned sources even if we wanted to.
  11. I was in a relatively minor accident when a person backed into my 2006 Porsche Boxster S. They are at fault and the accident happened in Georgia and their insurance company is State Farm. I bought it last year brand new from a dealer for $47,500 and live in Tampa, Florida where it is being repaired. My car only has 7,500 miles. The total damage is only $1,600 (based on estimate - however could be higher). Replacing front bumper, grill and headlights. I know the damage is relatively minor but I have no doubt that it will cost me at least another $1,500 to $2,000 in diminished value now that it has been in an accident when I go to re-sell the car. I am aware there is a high probablility that I will get nothing from the insurance company but am willing to try; therefore, I also don't want to sink a ton of $$$ into fighting them by hiring an attorney. So, my option is to try and fight them myself. I did a search on the internet and found several "specialists" on fighting a diminished value claim and they tried selling me $600 services that I would need. I have to believe with all the resources on the internet that somebody has posted sample letters and information that will assist me in fighting this without spending $600. I don't mind spending a couple of hundred but need a direction on where to get started. Can somebody help? Thanks in advance.
  12. Great News: I spoke to the co-owner of GAHH and have negotiated (what I perceive) as a sweet deal. First, this individual is very nice and wants to work with us. He is excited to deal with us and would like to make this transaction as clean as possible. He is in the business of placing higher volume orders for discounts and will require a 10 order minimum for us to get the discount. The current retail price on the basic color top of is $959 which he will sell to us for $800. The basic colors for this $800 price are (Black/Black #101 or Indigo/Black = Metropol Blue #141 ). If you decide that you need either Space Gray #140 or Graffiti Gray #135 then the normal up-charge is $84, but he will only up-charge us $70. So your price would be $870. If you want any other NON-FACTORY color, then the up-charge, which is normally $184, would be $150. If you have an 2000-2002 Boxster and wish to order a head liner, the price is $260 versus the normal price of $317. All shipping charges will be only $25 within the US regardless of the city. I am assuming this is via ground. He is the only manufacturer of this product. Do NOT APPROACH Cabrio World as he is the supplier to them. We MUST have a commitment of 10 orders to do this deal. Each person will then pay individually via Visa, Amex or MC directly to GAHH. The only challenge is that all orders must be processed on the same day. Again, this is his only restriction. So, WE ALL MUST ORDER ON THE SAME DAY. If you are a 100% commitment, please respond. If we don't have 10 orders, we don't have a deal! I will wait until I hear from everybody to do a quick headcount. If we have 10 people, then we go. Before I set a firm date, Let us get a headcount. If you have any questions, go to www.gahh.com and checkout the selection and pricing. Thanks. Anthony Please email me at atwnsw@lycos.com if you wish to participate in group purchase (edit - removed whitespace - Loren)
