Also looked for idle adaption in piwis doesn’t seem to have that as option just dme system adaption which doesn’t do anything.
-
Indeed it does..thanks guys.
-
So I was wrong with my fault code ...code 22 was set..not present dtc..I checked my iacv valve via drive links-ok..bench tested ok..checked wiring from dme to valve ok...idle still at around 1050/1100.. my actual valve for iacv seems to sit at around 55%..any input would be helpful...Im wondering if my car has a aftermarket chip in it causing high idle..
-
The cable Richard is referring to is just that, a cable that has no idea what is on either end of it. It also does not have an electronic interface in the middle of it, like the main Durametric cable does, so there is nothing to get in the way of it making a connection with the PIWIS.
So you are agreeing with that cable plugged into vci of piwis will work to communicate with 993 and older -
To be clear. You are running that connector to PIWIS 2? Plugging in to OBD2 port in VCI? Or running with a durametric?
-
Where can I purchase adaptor? Does the durametric cable work with a PIWIS?
-
So via blink codes I found said dtc. Idle is at around 1k rpm. Unplug connector idle drops.
Going blind into this. Don’t have a scanner or diagrams. Car had aftermarket air filter and MAF. and a harness spliced into red pin of connector. Connector has 2 pins. (I see people talk about a 3 pin connector?). I installed stock air box and removed/repaired red wire. So my questions are A. To check my wires I’d like to resistance check them. Are they direct to DME? Anyone have a picture of pinouts? B. Any chance by removing the maf. It needs to be relearned even tho it throws a short circuit. C. Can I perform a iac learn without diag. Scanner?
Thanks for any input.
Here’s a picture of the stuff I removed

Sorry if this is somewhere else.. but I'm on Tapatalk so maybe that's why I can't find any info. Looking to buy timing tools for m96 motors. Anyone recommend a specific aftermarket company's set?
-
How's your oil pressure? Esp when hot?.. run your oil pump part # at dealer.. it should supersede like 8 times or more..just saying
-
Ok sorry for the wait guys..but I was correct in PDK actual values there is a value for race start counter. It was at zero. I then activated launch control..still stayed at zero until I actually released brake and car took off. I did it a second time, it went to 2.. I then cycled key and rechecked at it stayed at 2.. now like I said this is on a PIWIS 3.. so it may be different on a PIWIS 2 and I'm sure for a Durametric
-
I would assume by saying "both fuel pumps" they replaced pumps and flanges.. the pumps were never really the issue.. the smell was from raw fuel not vapors
-
So PIWIS 3 is a little different but in VAL under PDK actual values race start counter.. I will chime back in when I get a car to test and see if it changes after engaging launch control
-
I've seen several pump flanges ( white things you remove to access in take pumps) leak fuel causing smell.. not really the pumps themselves..made from plastic and over time the seams leak..would recommend replacing both if one was leaking
-
Yes It can be checked via PIWIS tester. Don't remember exactly where it's hidden. Might be in part of VAL. If need be I can dig for it. Lmk

I like the torn fuel hose inside the tank..
-
Have you borescoped cyl 3? How did that plug look compared to others when you changed them
-
What is the p2254Still throwing the P2254 code, P2a03, P0442 and a P0017.
P2a03 is fuel pressure sensor code?
P0442 tank vent/leak?
P0017 cam sensor?
-
So it's an S or a base? If it's a 6 cyl on the back of the valve cover left side when looking at it, little pin hole in cover if you put your finger over it and it's pulling vacuum and idle changes... You need a valve cover... Do you know what your fuel trims look like?
-
Sounds like could be possible coolant crossover pipe on back of engine....but pics don't work..so not sure what your talking about

Hi, I have a 2008 Porsche Cayenne with a a CEL for P2404. The car runs completely normal and this is the only check engine light code. The only information I found on this is:
P2404 Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Pump Sense Circuit Range/Performance
Possible cause of fault - Insufficient vacuum (system has a leak or blockage) - Short circuit to B+ in signal line - Leakage diagnosis pump faulty (diaphragm or reed switch sticks, internal solenoid valve stays closed or is blocked) -DME control module faulty
I was wondering if there was anyone with a similar issue or anyone with knowledge of a reported fix. If not, I'm a pretty good DIYer. Does anyone know how I should go about diagnosing this?
I've seen this a few times. 1st I'd say if you have a vac. gauge get that on your vac pump on the back of B1 cyl head. Look for low vac./oil ingress from pump seals. Another easy test would be if you have ability to run a short test. Remove r/r wheel & inner liner gain access to carbon canister vacuum feed line place a vacuum bleeder on the canister and run your short test. If you pass it's a vac supply issue if you fail it's a carbon canister/electrical issue. My gut is bad vacuum pump

Yes, the parking brake wants to know the gap between the shoe/rotor. Since you are now changing one of those measurements, It must be told by the tester what the new gap is.If your not replacing park brake shoes, is it still necessary to have park brake in 'service' mode in order to change rotors and pads?
-
2011 and up cayennes require tester to place electric parking brake into service position, then on install you must "grind-in" parking brake shoes and calibrate parking brake labor is almost 4 hrs just for rear pads and rotors
-
Sounds like a sticking camshaft actuator for sure...you should see B1 or B2 actual value sticking as you powerbrake the truck...to be honest with that mileage wouldn't hurt to change both along w valve cover gaskets
-
Also how would boost pipes collapse under boost if its positive pressure?
