  1. Cant say for sure. i never saw the factory radio. I think that's the wire that was causing my problems with the speakers not working. They only work when I plug in the amp wire to that wire I don't think there is an alternative, but not sure. I just copied what the guy before me had done I have the yellow battery (memory) wire tied into the thick black/red and the red acc wire tied into the orange wire. Can I possibly put the amp wire with the red acc wire? Leaving the brown/ blue to be cut?
  2. I guess the open zone is the radio. The alarm thinks its gone. It's strange. When I take the yellow wire(battery) off the continuous hot, it locks normally when I put it back on , the beep returns. Is there a way to bypass the radio part of the alarm?
  3. I finally figured it out. It was a 7.5 amp fuse. I think it was e1. At any rate it now works. Strange thing is while it wasn't working my doors lock and alarm set as normal, but now that is fixed it once again beeps once when locked. I can live with it I guess
  4. I had the battery cables disconnected all nite. I wasn't a plug and play. When I bought the car four years ago it had a jvc stereo in it. The volume wasn't working well so I installed the Sony. They had the ground wire attached to the ground from the radio so I did the same. I just went one by one swapping the speaker wires and everything worked fine for several years. One thing. Every time I locked the car remotely it beeped once. Until reading on this forum, I thought that was normal. It's never had any problems starting previous to yesterday. Yesterday I did the same thing that I did years ago when swapping radios. I moved the car at one point prior to this happening. I'm wondering if one of the speaker wires was actually a wire that makes the loop to check the system and I might have been confusing it with a speaker wire and shorted something. I never had the speakers working at all, but moved the car an hour or so after working on the speakers. I'm concerned a fried my ecu. I'm still getting the airbag failure warning What about the immobilizer? I guess I'll have to tow it to my mechanic tomorrow.
  5. Last night I fully charged the battery just in case but it didn't make any difference.
  6. One more thing, none of the speakers are working but the radio powers up
  7. I did try jumping to make sure. I only have one key. I'm a little freaked out I can't see what I could have messed up installing a radio
  8. Sorry 02 996. I saw a similar post on here but no one had responded. When I say it doesn't turnover , I mean it acts like the battery is dead but all the lites are on. After the computer runs its ck it tells me the airbag failure message.
  9. Remote now seems to work but car will still not turn over
  10. I need help. I swapped my old radio for a newer one today. Same brand (Sony) I put the previous one in no problem. Now, the car won't start and I'm getting an"airbag failure " warning. Everything lites up, battery is strong but nothing happens not even a click. The car locks with the key remotely, but will not unlock remotely. All computer functions seem normal please help.
