  1. The button can be replaced.   2. I had the same problem. The button had a piece broken off behind the face. I popped it off and could manually reset it. I ordered a new piece and all is well.
  3. I would start with Check Valve and Vent line this seems to be the most common. I have attached the diagram... Vent line part # 948-110-202-01 Check Valve Part# 948-107-219-50 If you cant start your car or it runs for a few seconds quits and you cant start it most likely its the fuel pump. check valve.pdf
  4. Pulling the codes from durametric Will help narrow it down. But the usual culprits for these symptoms are, check valve, vent line, fuel filter and lastly fuel pump. Any of these are DIY projects. Lots of information posted on forum. I will look for some diagrams/part #'s
  5. It still sounds like the switch may be disconnected. I looked everywhere and could not find any type of diagnostic steps other than check the fuses, connectors, heat elements(inside heats)

  7. I agree with Loren (as usual it seems) it sounds like the battery is bad or not correctly grounded/cables tightened.
  8. Big-is right check the fuse first. When testing I usually swap out the same one from another. If that doesn't work replace the sensor
  9. P1182 code is the Positive Crankcase Ventilation sensor-open circuit code. You can go into the DIY section and look up all the OBDII codes. Normal protocol would be to replace it...

  12. I have lots of little squirrels in my dash but I think those can be associated to the servo mech's. I dont ever recall a hissing sound. How is the air flow and temp output?
  13. I made post not to long ago asking what everyone's operating temp and most came back at 180 f. My 04 s runs 180 to 200 in normal city driving. Stopped traffic I have only seen it go as high as 230 or so + or - a few degrees. The fans kick in and keep it below the 3/4 mark.
  14. I broke all the rules...panic, jumping to conclusions....need the **** thing to work because I need to tow my grill to cook for 80+ coworkers for a tailgate. **** thing just started up fine. Took it for a quick ride....told the wife I would call her to come get me if it broke down. No issues, fast acceleration and great idle. I am low on gas (idiot light came on) so now I am thinking "check valve". Still worried that the sound I heard is a pending bad starter.
  15. Alright...I am an idiot...I way... over-reacted. Ireplaced the main fuel pump awhile back so I didnt even think it could be the pump. As always you have to try one more time. Well it took a second of the starter running, sputtered and started (running rough). I turned it off. I just got done pulling all of the coils and plugs. They look in great condition. I just put in new plugs and ...-08 part # coils less than a year ago. I am going to pull the fuse for the one pump and see if it will idle...
  16. Moved the pig out of the garage this morning to clean the garage. Moved it back in after I was done. Went to take a quick trip to the store and all I hear is a "whurrrrrrr" sound. Definately not turning the engine over. Is not throwing any codes. I tried rocking it forward and back in gear to see if it just slipped, nothing but whurrr....Son of a B*tch... Starter or timing chain?
  17. Try unplugging the switch and plugging it in? I had the passenger door window switch not work but would work from the drivers side. After replacing the switch, nothing, I finally pulled the door panel off and found the main electrical harness was loose and as soon as I plugged it in everything worked. My guess slamming the door shut loosened the harness.

  19. Agree with the experts above. Make sure the plugs are changed when they change the coils. Coils part # should end in -08 (948-602-104-08 new version)
  20. I changed the front/rear differentials and the transfer case. The differential fluid came out horrific looking. The transfer case came out pretty clean and red. Mobil 1 ATF full synthetic meets the porsche spec LT 71141 so that is what I used on the transfer case. For the front and year I also went with Mobel 1 LS 75w 90. (Check my gallery for pics) All are much quieter. I am planning on chaning the transmission filter/fluid in the next few weeks.
  21. Are you pulling any codes? I don't even know where to start with this one....so many possibilities. I would first start by checking the batteries. A bad battery has been known to cause all kinds of electrical gremlins.
